Tumbleweed - Old Friend (man bashbuiltins) Not There ??

Devs, Since I can remember, suse/opensuse has provided the convenience of collecting the bash builtin functions in a separate man page: $ man bashbuiltins On Tumbleweed, that results in: $ man bashbuiltins No manual entry for bashbuiltins Possibly, man page is not installed, try online at: https://manpages.opensuse.org/bashbuiltins It was there up though Leap 15.4. imagemagick module not found

Hi, I have a simple script, used uncountable times since years, and now it doesn't work anymore, because a module isn't found. The command executed is: magick "image.JPG" -quality 50 -verbose "image.png" The answer is: magick: unable to load module '/usr/lib64/ImageMagick-7.1.1/modules-7_Q16HDRI10/coders/jpeg.la': file not found @ error/module.c/OpenModule/1293. magick: no decode delegate for this image format `JPEG' @ error/constitute.c/ReadImage/746. I just checked: the not found jpeg.la is where it should be, the rights are set correct. Any hints what could be the reason and how I could correct it? Thanks for your help. Petro Canada and Cloudflare problem

Recently, while trying to access my Petro Points account I was blocked: "Sorry, you have been blocked You are unable to access petro-canada.ca Why have I been blocked? This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks. The action you just performed triggered the security solution. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. What can I do to resolve this? You can email the site owner to let them know you were blocked. Please include what you were doing when this page came up and the Cloudflare Ray ID found at the bottom of this page." I get this with Firefox, Chromium and Edge on my desktop system and also with Firefox on my notebook computer, both running OpenSUSE 15.6 KDE. However, that site works with my notebook running Windows 10 & Firefox and also Chrome on Android. I tried the help desk, but they were useless. Any ideas? tnx jk

No base modules for kernel-longterm

Hi - I've been playing with MicroOS and plan to use it as a base for my home servers. I've installed kernel-longterm and k3s. Then I wanted to add longhorn, so I installed the pre-requisites and ran the environment_check.sh script which threw an error regarding a missing kernel module iscsi_tcp. Modprobe returned an error that the module could not be found. Checking the available kernel packages I saw that for kernel-default there is kernel-default-base which holds base modules. After installing it I was able to load the module but the OS also booted into 6.11.5-1-default instead of 6.6.58-1-longterm. I wonder why the base modules don't exist for kernel-longterm or what's the suggested way of adding them. Thanks in advance!

mouse pointer doesn't change on links in firefox 128.0esr

Hello:This occurs in openSUSE 15.5. I installed firefox 128.0esr. -------The mouse pointer doesn't change to a hand on hovering links in firefox 128 esr.-------I use the default X windows mouse theme (by setting no theme in KDE control center).-------I use KDE3 desktop.-------The mouse works normally with previous firefox 115 esr.-------What is the cause, and how could I fix?-------Thanks,-------Istvan-------ps: The -------s are for separating lines.

Tumbleweed not booting: SDDM and kwallet crash

Since yesterday I can no longer boot my Tumbleweed. I updated to yesterday's and today's snapshot. I only see a black screen with a movable mouse pointer from SDDM. I checked journalctl and saw a crash with a stacktrace from SDDM. I then removed SDDM and installed lightdm. I could enter my password, but when the plasma session (both Wayland and X11) started, kwallet crashed. I assume some Qt or KDE library is broken. What details do you need to investigate further?

mbox mail viewer

Hello:I need an mbox file viewer GUI program for openSUSE. A program I can use for opening mbox email files in a local directory. Thunderbird, Evolution, Clawsmail all can open/import mbox files, but they require setting up an email account which I don't want. I only want to open local mbox files and possibly manipulate them (view, save, copy to other folder). Pine/alpine can do this nicely, but it is a terminal program. I need something similar that is GUI and can show attached images. Suggested repo to install the libdvdcss library in Tumbleweed?

Hi, I'm trying to play DVDs with vlc. My understanding is that the libdvdcss library needs to be installed for this to work. Could someone suggest the best repo to add for the purpose of installing libdvdcss? And also the `zypper` command to do so? I want to make sure adding an additional repo doesn't end up creating issues in conjunction with other repos. Is there a parser already written to output zypper.log entries in a nice format?

All, I'm chasing problems in Thunderbird and wanted to parse zypper.log (yes I could use the rpmdb), and wanted to know if there was a parse already written or whether is just one for awk (and xzcat for the compressed files)? awk and xzcat work fine, but if there is already a tool, I'd rather not reinvent another wheel. openSUSE's past lives on...

All, I got a kick out of this, and some of you may too. To try and troubleshoot the problem I'm having with RSS newsfeeds hanging in Thunderbird 128.3.3esr, I launched akregator to try the feeds there and see if there was any difference in behavior. Launching akregator, the default feeds were from the time Novell owned openSUSE: https://paste.opensuse.org/pastes/4cf4bf12d2f1 I should have got a shot before I deleted all the other Novell feeds and Planet SUSE feeds. It was a blast from the past. Akregator has no problem hanging, and handles the feeds just fine. Wireshark shows nothing odd when checking in Thunderbird, but the last transmission from the hanging feed is an ACK - why that causes a hang is still beyond me.
