Hi, all -- I have a 15.1 desktop davidtg@gezebel:~> cat /etc/SUSE-brand openSUSE VERSION = 15.1 and a 15.2 disk farm diskfarm:~ # cat /etc/SUSE-brand openSUSE VERSION = 15.2 and am now about to build a 'net-facing small LAMP server. How stable have folks found 15.3? Should I go with that or stick with 15.2? TPM2 auf Leap 15.3

Hallo, mein Laptop läuft einwandfrei mit secure-boot und trusted-boot und hat auch einen TPM2-Chip eingebaut. Den würde ich gerne nutzen. Wenn ich ihn aber im BIOS aktiviere, startet der Rechner nach dem Boot-Menü nicht mit einer Fehlermeldung bzgl. tpm-error und dass der kernel zuerst gestartet werden müsse. Hat jemand schon TPM2 zum Laufen bekommen? Danke und Grüße, HAL

Update Repository (Debug)

When I try to update my new Leap 15.3 system by invoking "zypper patch" or "zypper up", the following warning message appears: Repository 'Update Repository (Debug)' appears to be outdated. Consider using a different mirror or server. For suppressing the warning message, I have inactivated this repository in yast. But I am looking for a better solution. On the site http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/, I did not find anything appropriate. Is there a better site available? And if so, what is its URL? Thank you in advance. System sounds in Enlightenment

To someone who's desktop is enlightenment. I can enjoy many multimedias on openSUSE 15.3 RC. audacious, mplayer, aplay, ffplay, mpd, vlc, xine, kodi.... But, I can't get any system sounds within the enlightenment, at all. It looks just like a PnP spec, so the developper told me that my pulseaudio is broken. I don't think so. In fact, I can enjoy multimedias. So, I'd like to ask the enlightenment user all. Are you getting the system sounds flawlessly? snapper config

I have Tumbleweed installed on a computer at home. I was planning on updating it. I do not want to take a chance with the /usr merge change, so I want to have a snapshot just in case. The strange thing is: snapper seems not to be configured. It is a full btrfs install with everything as the install defaults to. There is ample free space (> 100 GB). When I run snapper ls, I get: The config 'root' does not exist. Likely snapper is not configured. There is no /.snapshots dir, and there is nothing in /etc/snapper/configs. No idea why it is this way. How can I config snapper? I just want whatever the openSUSE install would have done. I googled a bit and the discussions are about where it seems snapper is set up (the files that I said do not exist do exist in the questions I have seen), but this complaint is made. I do not think that is my issue. As an aside, that's the 'drawback' of systems like SUSE where so much is done automatically. One no longer really knows the commands involved. It's not at all a complaint. Just an observation of how things have evolved. I used to know a lot more about what was happening under the hood. Now I just sit and enjoy the blinking lights! -- Roger Oberholtzer

Leap 15.3 RC Gnome and Tumbleweed XFCE: Logitech Marble Mouse not working (40-libinput.conf missing)

Hi, I have been using a Logitech Marble Mouse trackball and a Logitech optical mouse with Leap 15.2/KDE for quite a while. Trackball left-hand-mapping, and an optical mouse right-hand-mapping (one computer, two users) I left the the optical-mouse-setting as it came with the system, and added for the trackball the configuration below. Works the way I like it. /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf in Leap 15.2/KDE-Plasma ---------------------------------------------------------------- Section "InputClass" Identifier "Marble Mouse" MatchProduct "Logitech USB Trackball" MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*" Driver "libinput" # default button assignments. # Option "ButtonMapping" "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9" # right-hand-mapping # Option "ButtonMapping" "1 8 3 4 5 6 7 2 9" # left-hand-mapping Option "ButtonMapping" "3 8 1 4 5 6 7 2 9" Option "ScrollMethod" "button" # Option "ScrollButton" "8" Option "ScrollButton" "9" # Option "MiddleEmulation" "on" # use instead Buttonmapping "3 8 1 ... 9" EndSection ---------------------------------------------------------------- But not so with Leap 15.3 RC Gnome or with the current Tumbleweed XFCE. SD card errors - what to do?

I've just had SD card errors for the first time and don't know what they mean exactly nor how to investigate further. The SD card was in a wildlife camera, which said there was an error. I thought it might have become full. I brought it back to my computer and put it in the card reader. Nothing shows up on screen (it normally opens a dialog box that offers to open my file manager when I insert an SD card). I thought the normal failure mode for SD cards was to go read-only, so I'm a bit lost. Any suggestions to recover the images at least? Or is it totally dead?

(Not quite) duplicate repositories?

Following the link to "openSUSE Build Service repositories" | http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/ I see many almost duplicate repositories in the list, differing in name only by the trailing : in its name. Some have older, some newer dates. What is going on here? How to decide which to use? (Example attached.) Leslie -- Distribution: openSUSE Leap 15.3 x86_64
