My old Epson Perfection 4870 Photo has a detachable plate in the lid which is white on one side and black on the other, but I'm sure this is accidental and was not intended as a helpful design feature. TinySSH & openSUSE 15.3 & WSL

Geetings, Has any of you managed to SSH from your LAN to a openSUSE 15.3 running on WSL & Windows 10 by any chance please? I followed what I could find on the net and this with openssh. No joy, many libraries missing. However, someone suggested TinySSH, a clean, simple, low ressources deamon. It would be great for admins to be able to ssh from their LAN to WSL. Thanks, Best, Jimmy

Leap 15.3, KDE and removable media

I do not seem to get removable media to work correctly on leap 15.3 They are configured as usual to ask the user what to do, However, when plugging them in, KDE does not respond. I can see the devices listed with lsscsi. But nothing happens. I'm not sure where to look for more info. journalctl only lists that the devices are now there. But nothing happens in KDE. Is there some other setting other than the one in the system configuration program under Removable Devices? It would help if I got a complaint somewhere. But I do not see anything. Other than the system log, I'm not sure where to look. There used to be an X log file in $HOME that listed whatever programs were saying. I do not see that file. Any pointers would be appreciated. -- Roger Oberholtzer

Leap 15.3 samba-krb-printing removed from repo

Hi, We started testing Leap 15.3 and noticed samba-krb-printing is no longer a part of the offical repos. Yes we did decide to build it for ourselves in OBS but wondering why this was removed? This package is very useful for organisations in a Microsoft environment who have Linux desktops joined to a domain with Samba, they can print to a Windows Server shared printer seamlessly using their local kerberos ticket Thanks

leap 15.3 autoyast issue with samba-client

Hi, using the same Autoyast profile which works in Leap 15.2. Does not work in Leap 15.3. Boot loader 15.3

My ThinkPad had been configured to have the boot loader on sda3. In updating to 15.3, I accidentally put it on the master boot record on sda. This has created a problem with updates to Windows 10, which I also have on that computer. The major updates will choke if the computer doesn't boot from the Windows partition, so I'd use fdisk to change booting from sda3 to sda1. It would then boot directly into Windows, allowing he update to continue. After my mistake in updating, I can no longer do that. I have used the Yast Boot Loader to move the boot loader to sda3, but the problem continues, no matter which partition I choose to boot from. Any idea how to fix this? tnx jk

SAMBA, Problem in SuSE Leap VERSION = 15.2, with "PRINT COMMAND ="

openSUSE VERSION = 15.2 SAMBA Version 4.11.14-git.247.8c858f7ee14lp152.3.19.1-SUSE-oS15.0-x86_64 Greetings, this week I've installed a fresh SuSE 15.2 Server via DVD, and updated all services. This server would replace an existing old SuSE Server already in place. My problem is that the printer SHARE on the new Samba Server does not work. The file system shares [HOME] work fine, Just not any Printing shares that use "PRINT COMMAND =" as directive; in order to execute tailored script. My example is a simple PDF-Printer [pdf] printing = sysv comment = PDF Generator path = /tmp read only = no printer name = ps1 guest ok = yes printable = yes browseable = yes print command = /usr/local/lufa/mkpdf %s ~%u //%L/%u %m %I Being able to use "print command =" to submit to script is an important part of many solutions that I need to have in place. (The [PDF] share is just an example, I know that I could solve THIS differently.) Other file server shares like [HOMES] work fine. Just the "print command = " does not execute. Scripting to a log file shows no activity at all, and I receive no error messages, neither from the client nor from the samba server. Does anyone know how to debug the printing service. As to show if samba has a problem, or if the client is trying to submit printing at all. Setting "log level = 10" doesn't show me any usefull, at least any information that I can understand. I do know that "printing = cups" (using cups librarys) will suspend the "print command" completely, but does that mean that the "print command =" won't work at all with other "printing = " directives ? My printers otherwise use "printing = sysv", this has always worked.
