[opensuse] KVM & Raspbian

I've never used virtual machines before but I want to bring up an instance of Raspbian. So I installed KVM with YaST and I downloaded https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/rpd_x86_latest and ran its checksum, so I know I got a good copy. I started virt-manager and selected File/New VM and got a dialog box/wizard which I clicked through. Is there a set of instructions somewhere that's suitable for a noob to do what I want? Alternatively, can somebody tell me what the error means and what I need to do to fix it? [opensuse] Leap 15.1 - kernel staying at 4.12 level (no difference to Leap 15.0)?

Hi list, read the announcement on the factory mailing-list <https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2019-05/msg00142.html> that leap 15.1 was completed. Did some zypper dup upgrades and the kernel basically stayed the same at 4.12.something Is this to stay? [opensuse] After recent upgrade Win7 does not start in virtualbox

Hi all, I cannot start Win7 in virtualbox after a recent upgrade. I thought it was because I reinstalled on e of my laptops. But today there was a usual upgrade on another laptop, and the same occurred. Win7 seemingly starts, but soon ends with a blue screen. It says that if it is the first time i see that message, then restart the computer. Otherwise I should consult with my administrator. I use TW and KDE. Any hints? Thanks Albert

I have this config: # grep ^[a-zA-Z] /etc/dnsmasq.conf domain-needed no-resolv user=dnsmasq group=nogroup listen-address=127.0.0.1 conf-dir=/etc/dnsmasq.d/,*.conf Shouldn't this be enough to make dnsmasq listen only on 127.0.0.1 ? [opensuse] wpa_supplicant-2.6-16.1.x86_64 update Leap 42.3, stopping network during update

All, I have seen this on two machines so far and I am curious if anyone else has experienced problems with the wpa_supplicant update. What I have seen happen is the update gets to: ( 64/233) Installing: wpa_supplicant-2.6-16.1.x86_64 -----------------------------------------------------------[-]packet_write_wait: Connection to 192.168.6.102 port 22: Broken pipe and the network goes down. It's almost like the wpa_supplicant update is attempting a hot-driver replacement in the middle of the install routine. Anybody seen anything similar? -- David C. [opensuse] chrony attempts to use IPv6, which is not supported by my ISP (Leap 15.1)

The machine has just a link-local IPv6 address. It is pointless to try use such an address, yet chronyd wastes half an hour trying before switching to some other... I see in the manual: OPTIONS -4 With this option hostnames will be resolved only to IPv4 addresses and only IPv4 sockets will be created. but no config file keyword. :-? [opensuse] MySQL (mariadb) fails to start on 42.3 - Can someone confirm

All, I don't leave the mysql server running continually. I start it when I need to pull in, check databases, etc.. Today, looking at the socket question on this list, I attempted to start mysql and it failed to start. The journal shows: May 08 21:46:41 wizard systemd[1]: Starting MySQL server... It was previously setup, mysql_secure_installation run and was fully functioning, but now is dead as a doornail. [opensuse] KeePassXC question - Leap 15.1 Beta.

Hi, On this 15.1 test partition, when I use Auto Type, the keeppassxc window hides and goes to the end of the tab list. I have managed to disable the auto hide, but I don't know how to tell it not to touch the tab list. I want to be able to do Alt-Tab and find the password manager where I expect it, on the first atl-tab hit (XFCE). I hate it. How? -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
