Hello, Just right now I tried update (zypper up) a 42.3 install and after some problems (part of them because the root part is too small and btrfs don't like it), I ended with... Tumbelweed... don't ask me why As I have an other partition with Leap 15, I went for it. One article said to try the about:config and change the max TLS version to 3 instead of 4 (not really the version number but 4 is the newest). Anyway, it didn't work. So, once again: when I use a f-f connector and patch around the router and go direct from the ethernet radio to my ethernet in on my puter, I get these kinds of messages: "Error code: SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG" or "Secure Connection Failed The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified." Interesting to note that when I was testing a few mins ago between tv shows, the Microsoft site https worked fine as did some other site but not many others. Had to put it back together so the Roku would work, will test more later. Again, no problem with router in the circuit. Whatever is the problem, it is with this computer, not the browsers. They do, after all, work fine as do all other network related programs until the router is bypassed. Firefox and Opera, I don't use Chrome. One thing I have not done is patch the ethernet radio out to the Win7 puter to see how it reacts. It may be tomorrow before I can do that during a time when the tv is back on the antenna. yast2 configure display manager used to allow you to change the display manager, but it no longer works, although the option is still there. Google tells me I must use: sudo update-alternatives --config default-displaymanager Why is the option still in Yast2 if it doesn't work? [opensuse] two identical machines, ntp sync is different?

Well, I'm 99% certain they are identical - one is in a cupboard 100 meters away, the other is right here on my desk. They are tiny ARM boards, Nanopi Neo Air. [opensuse] USB startup stick

After 2019-02-01 update Thunderbird and Firefox could not make connection with Internet anymore. I want to make now a startup USB stick, but the snapshot file 2019-02-05 is too big to copy to the USB stick. In earlier snapshots was a program in the applications - the name I forgot - that made it possible to make a startup stick. How can I solve this problem? T.i.a. When did you last zypper dup? And, no btrfs? Running TW means you 'have' to zypper dup regularly. Otherwise choose Leap 15 as your distro. FWIW: My TW has not broken in years. I am lost. In the "I don't understand" way. Google has not helped much, either. If I bypass my router, i.e. patch directly to my ethernet port on the 'puter (networking set to dhcp) I can no longer access https websites. I get the IP addr from the ISP's server ok, I can go to different sites ok but all https sites return an error. The specific wording is different on different sites but basically it is indicating a security error. I assume then that my router has some security certificate or similar mechanism that is passed to these sites that my 'puter doesn't. How to enable it? It would seem to be a really simple thing but I can find nothing that helps me figure it out. SSL 3.3 or TLS 1.2 is what my Firefox uses when connected to https sites using the router, so that doesn't seem to be the issue. [opensuse] Digital tachopgraph - GPS data

I forget which thread this was in - I mentioned the that new tachograph starting 2006 would be digital and I think Carlos asked if they were going to be recording GPS too. I've just come across an article saying that as 15 June 2019, all new vehicles will require the new intelligent tachograph. https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/DE/ALL/?uri=CELEX%3A32014R0165 according to which the device will also store GPS data, namely at the beginning/end of the daily work, as well as after every 3 hours of accumulated driving time. The technical spec says the devices will support Galileo, Glonass and plain USGPS. It will also have a Bluetooth interface for the driver to use with his smartphone or tablet, an optional ITS interface for use by the driver/haulier, and a short-range DSRC interface for use by officials, toll stations and maybe On Board Weighing systems. Article 7 of 165/204 describes the applicable data protection.
