[opensuse] Leap 15.0 - touchpad on Thinkpad P50 not working since Kernel 4.12.14-lp150.12.73

Hi, I am running Opensuse Leap 15.0 on a Lenovo Thinkpad P50 with XFCE 4 as window manager. After the last two kernel updates (4.12.14-lp150.12.73 / 76) the touchpad is not working any longer. The touchpad is still recognised (Synaptics TM3149-002), and actived in the XFCE settings, but simply does not work. A mouse plugged into the USB port or docking station works fine. opensuse webmins, Very good job on the name-change ballot. For the very first time in one of these web based schemes, I didn't have to fight with NoScript to let a lot of nasty sites run javascript on my box just to click a few buttons. [opensuse] Spell check not working right in 15.0 Thunderbird

I have an email with quoted material, with all the quoted text underlined in red, while the normal text works. Just upgraded a box from 15.0 to 15.1 and all seems to work except the nfs server. Checked the config via yast and all looks normal. LS, I was unpleasantly surprised today after applying the latest updates to 15.1. I normally share the .mozilla directory between TW and 15.1. Now Firefox under 15.1 start wining and does not let me use the data, add-ons etc in my common .mozilla directory. No, I have to make a whole new profile, which I need to maintain also. Double the effort for the same functionality. Many packages on 15.1 are already (very) old, but at least it is slightly more stable then TW. So that's my production environment. TW is used for other purposes. But now it takes extra the effort for syncing both .mozilla directories. [opensuse] tumbleweed update - firewalld blocking qemu-guests

Hi, updated tumbleweed from: 20190607 -> 20191002 i have a bridge network for qemu. using virt-manager for virtualization. before update my guests where inside my home-network accessible with ssh from all computers. after the update only the host computer could ssh to the guests. no other computer from network will work: ssh: connect to host visume port 22: No route to host ping is working. when i stop firewalld at the host, all computers from network are able to connect to the virtual computers. the bridge has open ssh ports what has changed? i do not see anithing. [opensuse] gnome scrollbars

I've finally become annoyed enough with the gnome scrollbars to want to fix them. (the ones that are almost invisible and only become visible when you mouse over them). I've found https://www.linuxuprising.com/2019/09/how-to-disable-gnomes-overlay.html and determined that I don't have the 'overlay-scrolling' setting in dconf-editor, so presumably have an older version of gnome. I don't know how to find out what version of gnome I'm running, or even whether the question makes sense. There are various how-tos online that don't work on my system. I use an LXDE desktop and various programs of all ilks as my mood takes me. YaST shows me various different version numbers for various gnome-* packages, but the latest seems to be 3.26. Is there a concept of a single gnome version and how can I find it? Anyway I tried GTK_OVERLAY_SCROLLING=0 gedit and that worked so I've added export GTK_OVERLAY_SCROLLING=0 gdbus call --session --dest org.freedesktop.DBus --object-path /org/freedesktop/DBus --method org.freedesktop.DBus.UpdateActivationEnvironment '{"GTK_OVERLAY_SCROLLING": "0"}' to ~/.profile and that works. The I decided to make it the default for the whole system so I went to add it to /etc/environment. But that file just contains: # # This file is parsed by pam_env module # # Syntax: simple "KEY=VAL" pairs on seperate lines # which apart from the spelling error, just seems to indicate that it's not a good place to put a shell script fragment. So is the comment correct, or is the file actually interpreted by a shell at some point? And if the comment is correct, what's the correct place to put the gnome setting for its scrollbars to make it global?
