I was wanting to create a page about the Kubic project but the wiki doesn't accept my userid/password but OBS and Bugzilla do without a problem. [opensuse] Plasmashell and Firefox freezing if started within five minutes of log-in

Hi all, Since todays set of updates for openSUSE Leap 42.3, which seems to have included kernels and Systemd updates, my plasmashell will fail to fully load after log-in. It shows the small working area handle in the upper corner but the main control bar is missing. Running `killall plasmashell && kstart plasmashell` will result in exactly the same if done withing roughly five minutes after log-in. Once about five minutes have passed plasmashell will come up fine after a restart and then work flawlessly. The same issue happens for Firefox. If started within the first five minutes after log-in the window will come up, but it won't load any tabs and I can't interact with it. Once roughly five minutes have passed I can start it and it works as usual. Also, konsole works basically, but it will sometimes freeze. Then only killing the window will recover it. This, too, vanishes after the (about) five minute mark. Has anybody observed anything similar after todays update? I have tried booting with the previous kernel version (4.4.79-19.1), but this did not make a difference. The only red lines I found in the Systemd journal is `eventfd() failed: Too many open files`. [opensuse] Set up two displays for virtual machine with Virt-Manager (Leap 42.3)

Hi, I would like to add a second display in my Leap 42.3 VM (hypervisor is KVM on Leap 42.3). I use Virt-manager as graphical frontend. I have already found some information about that and tried to add a second "Video QXL" then use "Remote viewer". Here, in the toolbar > Display > Displays, I can see two entries (checkboxes) but the second remains uncheckable, hence no second display is available. As anyone tried successfully to do this ? [opensuse] Install Leap 42.3 on a USB booted disk?

Hello, my old trusted laptop from 2007 is capable of booting from a USB disk. I first build in the disk and made the first installation of Leap 42.3 (dual boot with Windows). Then I moved the HDD to a USB case and let the laptop boot to that USB connected disk. Everything looks fine. Question: if I go on with installation on the USB booted disk are there any caveats/bugs/peculiarities I have to pay attention to? Any no go's? After completion I want to move the USB booted HDD back to the laptop as main HDD . Is it possible to do that with a SSD (which is running as main disk in the laptop now) also? Thanks in advance. [opensuse] Google Earth on Leap 42.3

Is anyone running Google Earth on Leap 42.3? I have installed it from http://dl.google.com/linux/earth/rpm/stable/x86_64 When I run it, the bit that should show the earth is in a small section in a corner of the app window. Maybe it is a display driver issue? I am using nouveau. I had initial difficulties with the Nvidia driver (installed from RPMs via the Nvidia repo) and had to uninstall it. I have not tried the latest version. [opensuse] 42.3 Yast User and Group Management doesn't work.

I just tried to create a group in 42.3. When I start User and Group Management, the progress bar stops at 80%, step "Read users and groups" and stays there. This makes it impossible to manage groups & users. This is happening on 2 different computers.
