There have been a few updates recently and I've noticed a new cosmetic
problem. The bar at the top of the window often partially fades into
some other image, for lack of a better description, and the buttons at
the top right will often disappear, though they still work. Clciking
the "Show Desktop" icon on the tool bar and then reopening the windows
clears this. Has anyone else noticed this?
tnx jk

Currently I have the problem on one laptop, that plasmashell eats 60% of
CPU.
strace shows, that it permanently tries to access an invalid path:
strace -p $(pidof plasmashell)
poll([{fd=5, events=POLLIN}, {fd=6, events=POLLIN}, {fd=9,
events=POLLIN}, {fd=17, events=POLLIN}, {fd=26, events=POLLIN}, {fd=27,
events=POLLIN}, {fd=28, events=POLLPRI}, {fd=30, events=POLLIN}, {fd=31,
events=POLLIN}, {fd=32, events=POLLIN}, {fd=34, events=POLLIN}], 11, 0)
= 1 ([{fd=5, revents=POLLIN}])
read(5, "\3\0\0\0\0\0\0\0", 16) = 8
fcntl(25, F_SETLK, {type=F_RDLCK, whence=SEEK_SET, start=125, len=1}) = 0
lstat("/home/myuser/work\\xyz\\upload", 0x7ffe7669b3d0) = -1 ENOENT (No
such file or directory)
write(7, "\1\0\0\0\0\0\0\0", 8) = 8
futex(0x10c69cc, FUTEX_WAIT_PRIVATE, 1, NULL) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource
temporarily unavailable)
The path also looks strange: /home/myuser/work\\xyz\\upload
The correct path is: /home/myuser/work/xyz/upload
Ideas?
Greetings,
Björn

All,
If I run zyyper dup with -no-allow-vendor-change switch, certain
packages change vendor anyway.
What is difference between run dup with no vendor change and running it
with up?
Regards.

All,
This is more a curiosity and annoyance than anything else. Forever,
novell.com was the authentication/bug reporting site for SuSE/openSuSE. I
don't recall when that changed, but it was a couple of years ago. I had a
recent bug to file against the nvidia driver and lack of sysfs interface and
ended up having to mess with a 'microfocus.com' authentication site before I
could log in to bugzilla.opensuse.org. Why?

Hi,
Does anyone use a sieve editor ? That's an editor to make and modify
rules for an imap-server, to sort and manipulate mails.
KDE has one, but I seem unable to connect to my own dovecot-server. As
far as I can see that editor is 'old' (copyricht 2013-2014), so maybe
the security-provisions are too old for my server.
At home there is no problem making/editing rules, I have roundcube which
has a plug-in for the sieve-rules.
I'm actually looking to edit rules on another, remote dovecot-server,
but there I don't have access to a web-based email-client with a
rule-editor. I'm just experimenting with my own server before asking the
manager of the remote server to modify things.
Thunderbird has (had ?) a sieve-editor, but that's also old (2012). I
read somewhere it's not supported on recent TBirds.
So any suggestions ?
TIA,
Koenraad.

Dear listmembers,
a friend of mine had tremendous problems with hplip. Due to this I kind of
"reworked" the foo2zjs - package for leap. It supports hotplugging for those
printers now "out of the box".
My friend only owns a printer type hplj 1018 for which I was able to
successfully test now. However, I would highly appreciate to get more testing
on other / different installations / printers.
If somebody on this list,
1.) still owns one of the following printers:
hplj1000
hplj1005
hplj1018
hplj1020
hpljP1005
hpljP1006
hpljP1007
hpljP1008
hpljP1505
2.) would be willing to test a modified package of foo2zjs:
I would be happy to receive emails from you (<VORNAME>.<NACHNAME><AT><t-
online><DOT><de>). I will send him / her the src-rpm via email and would be
very happy to receive feedback.
A good start into the new week,
regards
Dieter Jurzitza
P.S.: in order to reach a larger amount of people I post this here as well,
had had posted it into the german mailing list of opensuse, before.
