[opensuse] pdf preview in dolphin?

I'm pretty certain I've been here before, but I can't find the bugreport (if I wrote one). I'm still hoping to get *office and pdf previews in dolphin in Leap42.1 (before it turns to 42.2) - those are a must for office work. After googling quite a bit, I installed kdegraphics-thumbnailers, but that didn't bring any improvement. [opensuse] runlevel 3 openSUSE versus Mint 17.3

Is there anyone here with Mint 17 experience along with SuSE experience. I have been trying Mint 17.3 and find myself comparing to what I know with SuSE, I guess since I have worked with that a lot longer. I am installing a new Nvidia 960 video card on a Mint 17.3 system and am running into problems that I once could solve easily. After some Googling and searching this list, I may have some answers but I am hoping that someone here can tell me if I am on the right track. One thing I don't know with either system is how do I get the system to recognize the new card and reconfigure the xserver for the new card? How is this done with SuSE (I haven't tried it yet)? In all my searching so far I haven't found the method for Mint either. I downloaded the 960 driver from Nvidia but the instructions said I have to be in text only with no xserver. I spent a few evenings on that problem with Mint. Most forum suggestions seemed very old and useless for the current Mint. The one that finally worked was to tamper with /etc/default/grub, changing three lines so now it boots and stays in text mode and I can run startx if I want to. I see from this list that systemd has changed the runlevel concept and now the method for SuSE (if I understand correctly) is systemctl set-default multi-user.target Is this correct? Is YaST System->Boot Loader->Boot Loader Options just another way to accomplish that? It seems that Mint 17 doesn't yet have systemd so am I correct in understanding that for Mint I tamper with /etc/default/grub while for SuSE I use the systemctl method? One forum (don't remember which forum) post that suggested the grub tampering that worked for me said that I must also do the systemctl in addition to the grub tampering. Does SuSE have the /etc/default/grub and if so, would I have to tamper with that in addition to the systemctl? [opensuse] Shutdown not powering off machine

HI I did originally post this on the factory list. For the last 3 evenings, I’ve ended up with a login prompt instead of the machine shutting down. I have given it time to power off but no joy, its always ended up in me pressing the button. I've had a look at the logs via journalctl for the period where I started the shutdown from the login screen but no red lines or errors show up. Any ideas where else I can look? [opensuse] How and where to apply a package list during the graphical installation of leap?

I want to reinstall a system with leap. I want it to reinstall from the scratch from DVD and repos. I want however to save the current selection of all packages installed (that I can do it in yast, I recall) and save it e.g. on a usb stick. I should be able to pass this list to yast during the install process. First problem: where or when can I do this in the graphical install process of the DVD? Second: how does this handle the problem that some repos will not be available during fist install (e.g. packman). Would yast accept the rest of the list or simply through an error. Last: in case it should be necessary, how could I build this list out of only Leap repo packages from a currently installed system (that is, can I ignore packages from packman and other repos when saving the list of installed packages (using only oss and non oss and update. [opensuse] vpcs/gns3

Hi, I'm trying to use vpcs on GNS3. I can start the VPCS-device, and "login" to the console. There, however, I can't really execute commands. When I type two characters, the command is executed, although I need some more parameters. E.g. I want to give an ip-address, so I type ip and immediately after the p the help for the command is shown. When I type ?<CR> I get global help which suggests I need to type a ! first, but doing that and adding a space gives help for !. Typing !i gives an error : command not found. I tried using different methods to connect to the vpcs, but that does not help. Any suggestions ? Anyone using GNS3 ? On Leap ? I tried installing on OS13.2 but that fails, because of dependencies. The latest version is installed and the about:feed and about:feeds workaround is there too. But it does not work. Deactivating noscript does restore rss. Does anyone else experience this? Since the update to FF 48 I cannot load any rss feeds any more. The pages load from the sites but not the rss feeds. Astonishingly one provider (heise.de) does load the rss feeds. All other feeds (nearly 40 or more in my case) do not load in any way. When choosing the associated main page that one does instead open. I tried also to delete and join a rss feed. No difference. What could be the reason? Is there any "cache" or other folder that I have to erase? I do have the setting to empty all cache and history when I shutdown the browser. Anybody else faces the problem?
