Vmware says it is connected. YaST showed two network devices, one configured and not working, and another, apparently newer. I deleted the old one, configured the new one for DHCP, and changed the name of the interface to eth0. But it does not work. On "rcnetwork restart" no messages appear on syslog. Dear friends, YaST creates some subvolumes on a btrfs-root partition which are added to /etc/fstab: UUID=87948980-e595-46ba-9686-08e4b901716e /var/tmp btrfs subvol=@/var/tmp 0 0 How can I manually create and add such mount-points? I'm not able to do it. Would be great to get some help on that problem! [opensuse] Multidevice BTRFS + LUKS

Hi!, anybody got a multidevice filesystem on top of LUKS working for automatic mounting?. I have a four device RAID6 solution with BTRFS running on openSUSE LEap 42.1. The thing is that I cannot mount the FS automatically. systemd asks for a passphrase for each device, which where created with the same passphrase. This generates a sort of race condition with the FS mount action, given the first unecrypted device declares the FS UUID but the mount operation fails because the other disks are still missing. I've found reports of succesfully running a helper script (https://github.com/gebi/keyctl_keyscript) to solve this, tried to configure it but it's not working in openSUSE. Hi all: New to OpenSUSE as of two days ago. I tried compiling DWM window manager today, which attempt has so far failed. I understand OpenSUSE does not come with a full build environment, so I expected a few errors along the way. In fact, the first two errors were for missing X-libs packages (libX11-devel and libXfti-devel), which I installed. Now, the next errors seem to be because certain header files are not where DWM (or GCC) expects to find them. So, I made that change, and the error disappeared. OK - you get the picture. Question is, is this PEBCAK, i.e., am I missing some essential build feature? Note: I have checked with one other Linux distro and their header files are as I adjusted them above. So, any ideas? Hi, I think this latest patch for libsolv is SERIOUSLY broken (on openSUSE 13.2) "zypper patch" results in a list of several hundred architecture changes, all changing from X86_64 to i586 ????? Hi!, I'm building a new NAS box (Leap + btrfs) which is a little over powered so I would love to use it as a personal virtualization lab. Xenserver/ESXi/Proxmox/Acropolis are out because of software R6 and having a single host, so I'm turning to openSUSE. I've worked a lot with Xen years ago but I understand the guys that get all the attention these days are KVM and docker, and Xen might be a second class citizen. Given I would like: - Software R6 on the host - Virtualization nesting - PCI passthrough - Some permanent VMs - Lots of temporary VMs Would you suggest to go with XEN or KVM or Virtualbox in this specific scenario at this point in time?, can I assume docker will place nice with any of them?. [opensuse] how to sync data with cloud storage manager

Hi all, I am experimenting with cloud storage manager coming with the default installation in Leap. I added Google drive to it. I managed to upload some files via the manager window. Unfortunately all new files have the name Untitled. They appear in the cloud server (checked via browser), but not in the folder I set in my home directory. Is it possible to synchronize them, like in Dropbox? Regards, Albert

[opensuse] Leap not recognizing blank dvds or cds

I was going to burn an iso image, and apparently the last time I did it was when I still had 13.2 (that was to burn the iso dvd for installing leap). So this time, while running 42.1, I put in a new blank dvd, and nothing. It won't read. Leap doesn't see anything in the drive. So I tried to put in a blank cd, and it still doesn't see anything. So I put in a cd that has data on it, and no problem, it reads just fine. So I booted into 13.2, and put in the same blank dvd to check, and no problem. In 13.2, the system reads that there is a blank dvd in the drive. Any ideas?
