No, not in system services, it's a network setting which governs whether you use wicked or network manager. Looking at 'systemd-sysv-convert', it's only about runlevels. It extracts the runlevels and stores them in /var/lib/systemd/sysv-convert/database, that's all AFAICS. [opensuse] How do I run VirtualBox?

Hello, I have a Leap USB appliance where I want to have virtualbox . I have added the packages: misha@linux:~> rpm -qa | grep box virtualbox-host-kmp-default-5.0.16_k4.1.15_8-13.1.x86_64 virtualbox-qt-5.0.16-13.1.x86_64 virtualbox-5.0.16-13.1.x86_64 However there is no virtualbox command and I found no way at all to start the virtualbox-qt GUI. I would appreciate explanation how I can do that. (If it matters, I am running icewm, and have no desktop environment. Hi All, Today I installed openSuSe 13.2 on a new computer. When I click on "Network Settings" in YaST, the following warning appears: Network is currently handled by NetworkManager or completely disabled. YaST is unable to configure some options. How can I force YaST to configure my Network? [opensuse] Wicked Static IP & Router Power Loss

If I unplug my router from the AC, once it's plugged back in, the static IP I have set it up wicked doesn't get reinitiated. What would be the fasted way to get the interface back up? Anybody knows where the thread is? Hello, I have a binary program that requires libffi.so.6. Rebuilding is not an option. >From a google, it appears that this file name was used for libffi version 3.x packages, while Leap has the libffi4 package with a 5.x version. Is there any (legitimate) way to get libffi,so.6 on Leap? [opensuse] Updating gcc to 4.9 or 5 from devel with 13.1 - Any gotchas?

All, There are some C11 additions made in 4.9 (_Generic, etc..) that are not available in 13.1 with gcc 4.8 (or 13.2 if gcc 4.8 was used). gcc 4.9 and 5 are available in the devel:/gcc repo. I am going to update, but before I do I thought I would check with the list and see if that update has any unintended side effects, dkms issues for module rebuilds, etc. I don't see any issues that I would expect, whatever calls gcc will get gcc, but not knowing if anything release related is tied to the /usr/lib64/... path for 4.8 specifically, or will require massive rebuild of software after install of the newer version is the concern. Anybody running 13.1 moved to gcc 4.9 or later? Any problems? -- David C. [opensuse] cannot use YaST2 to create degraded RAID1

Thread https://lists.opensuse.org/yast-devel/2016-04/msg00019.html explains my situation (I hope). YaST2 simply does not support creating in a degraded state. As a consequence, apparently I must use mdadm. Its man page is a mile long. I'm having a hard time determining what is required to do what I wish done, prepare a disk with 10 degraded md devices, in advance on one machine, for subsequent 42.1 and TW installation in another machine, minimizing downtime in the target machine.
