[opensuse] Setting NumLock to On During Boot

On TW (and this is probably the same for Leap), on my desktop PC I want NumLock to be on every time I boot the computer. The default is for NumLock to be off but as my login password has numbers in it, I like using the number pad. I tried Fedora on the same machine a while back and it defaulted to NumLock being on every time the machine booted. It seems to me that NumLock being on during boot would be a sensible default, so why is the default for it to be off? And what is the best way to set it to be on every time my PC boots? Another annoyance is that when I switch to, let's say TTY1 from a graphical session on TTY7, the NumLock Key shows lit on my keyboard. But when logging in on TTY1, NumLock really isn't on, just the light is list. So I have to press NumLock again and the light stays lit, and then the Num Pad works. Is this the current default or something with whatever driver is driving my keyboard? [opensuse] sharing a home dir across multiple different GUIs/versions ?

I haven't looked into this yet, just thinking out loud - what issues might there be in sharing a homedir (via NFS) between multiple versions of e.g. KDE? [opensuse] Locating library

Hi, I'm tinkering with freeradius. To test some things I need eapo_test. I didn't find it on OS 13.2 so I downloaded the source-rpm of wpa-supplicant, and compiled eapol_test (see http://deployingradius.com/scripts/eapol_test/) Unfortunately, the linker has a problem : /usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.8/../../../../x86_64-suse-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lnl I think I need libnl-something. I installed the libnl3-devel, but this didn't solve my problem. Any hints ? [opensuse] audacity doesn't accept input from numeric keyboard

Hello: This is in openSUSE 13.1 (with KDE3) and audacity-2.1.1. When I try to amplify a track's volume using menu "Effect/Amplify", the Amplify input window doesn't accept input from the keyboard's numeric pad part. Numbers entered in the "keyboard" part (in the top row) are accepted. Why is this and how can I change this behavior? [opensuse] configuring screenshots in Leap421 / plasma 5

In Leap421 / Plasma5 when I hit PrtScr, I get a little pop-up called "Spectacle" which informs me a screenshot has been placed in /home/per/Pictures and stored as png.
