[opensuse] [13.2] scilab doesn't find some java libs

I have installed current package Scilab[1] on openSuSE 13.2 x86_64. [opensuse] LLVM from devel:tools:compiler

Hello List, I'm trying to install LLVM 3.7 from devel:tools:compiler. Unfortunately, I get an unresolvable dependency problem (the only solution provided by zypper or yast is to switch four digits' worth of packages to 32bit). However, if there are packages for 13.2 on OBS, the build system has successfully installed them, or am I wrong here? The root of the problem seems to lie in versioned library dependencies (e.g. "libxatracker2-1.0.0-91.6.1.x86_64 requires libLLVMCore.so()(64bit)" where the newer packages provide libLLVMCore.so.3.7()(64bit)). [opensuse] Is there a program that gives byte value frequencies.

I need a trivial program that will read in a file and tell me how frequently each of the 255 btye values show up *whoops, I need to know about all 256 values" I know I could do something in awk, etc, but I have 5 TB of data to process (only 15 or so files. One is over 2TB, and none are small)/ No programs that use 32-bit ints to hold the count. If nothing exists, I guess I can write a c program relatively quickly. I'll give the brains here until morning (New York time) to suggest an efficient solution. I currently have a couple of systems that support UEFI, but currently use "legacy" BIOS type loading. [opensuse] SiI 4726 chipset

I am running v13.2 and need help configuring the Silicon Image sii4726 5 port raid chip. Silicon Image provides both a Windows and a Linux configuration tool. Unfortunately they were last updated in 2006. The Windows version will not work in Windows 10 and the Linux version will not run citing a multitude of old library dependencies. I have also tried running the Windows version in Wine and installed VirtualBox and ran Windows 7 in VirtualBox. No go either way. I know the chipset is recognized and the system shows all 4 drives present. Each drive can be accessed via fdisk but no way to connect to the raid chip to configure it out of jbod which is the factory default. I have contacted Silicon Image and they will not return my call (so much for customer support). Any ideas on how to configure this chip? [opensuse] how to connect to Android 5.1?

I just bought a cheap android-5.1 phone to play a bit around. Now I want to move/copy files from my computer (OS 13.2) to and from that thing, but it doesn't work, no matter what I try... If I connect a USB-cable and choose MTP the phone shows up with the "connected devices" with its brand name on my desktop, then I click "open with file manager", dolphin opens - and shows: nothing. After a while dolphin shows a red message: "The process for the protocol mtp was terminated unexpectadly" (my translation, have it in german). Googling told me to better use go-mtpfs. I installed it with that "one-click-install". I entered in a console (tried as user and as root) and get the following: # go-mtpfs /home/daniel/android/ 2015/10/17 18:54:56 OpenSession failed: LIBUSB_ERROR_TIMEOUT; attempting reset 2015/10/17 18:55:02 Configure failed: OpenSession after reset: LIBUSB_ERROR_TIMEOUT Hm, how can I get file access to my phone? (It is very easy with my Android 2.2 phone. It appeared as a normal disk in dolphin. I want to have this somehow. How?) Thanks for hints! I have a system with a single large JFS filesystem, about 600Gb with about 13% free space and millions and millions of files. Hi, I have a program that really needs jre 1.8. Although I have installed Openjdk 1.8, it refuses to run. Actually, it's an installer that installs a java-application. Does Opensuse 13.2 have an jre 1.8 ? Or do I have to install Oracle's version (with all the problems to do that) ? I don't find it in the standard repo's or on the build-service. Hi, this is from a laptop running 13.2. I am running every day seccheck and have normally no particular entries. That would explain why today I had trouble for a few time to open firefox as probably it was trying to check for the right dns. Any comment about the entry, in the sense that I do not really clearly understand how to read the output. E.g. we have a new entry "+" today for kio_pop3 (which is the pop-client of kmail?) of the user mercurio "0t0" I do not understand 0t0. UDP is the protocol used, communicates with local.host on port 53062 as desired and the local host then did communicate to port 53 to ask for DNS. Right? So substantially the question would be, why the kio_pop3 entries appeared in the first place. The other entries (nscd dnsmasq, dhclient I am used to see as "business as usual". Thank you for illuminating me on the way to read the output right and to understand if there is a problem with my routersettings. Currently all seems normal when browsing or in general operation.
