[opensuse] Broadcom BCM43xx WiFi driver and 13.2

Hello, in previous versions it was more or less working that driver for Broadcom wifi card was automatically installed. I tried fresh install of 13.2 on two different machines equipped with Broadcom (BCM4313) and during installation, I could connect to the wifi and use on-line repositories. But after installation the driver was missing and network card was not configured. This is really weird: some HW works during installation but fails later. This driver should be part of kernel, I think. I had to install it manually. KDE4 wasn't able to tell me what is wrong. XFCE told me that firmware is missing. And I had to configure the network card in YaST. I see this as regression when comparing with 13.1. Anyone has similar experience? Should I report is as a bug? [opensuse] Long wait between password and shell on SSH on OS13.2

Hello list! I see a strange effect on my updated OpenSuSE 13.2: I can login via ssh without problems. But after the pasword promt there is a env. 30 sec wait time until the shell finally appears. [opensuse] Regression in Qt 5.4.0 from KDE:Qt5

Using openSUSE 13.2, just updated Qt to 5.4.0~rc from KDE:Qt5 repository. Here's how my yast looks like now: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5Kp-cB1sXJrQjcxSktvUDVJWlk&authuser=0 That is 5pt font on 167DPI 13" laptop. With Qt 5.3.2 from the same repository everything worked correcly. [opensuse] Greetings. New to list, not to Linux or Suse. Yast problem.

Upgraded 12.1 system to 13.1, no problems. Went to do updates, Yast blows chunks. Have searched the list archives, have done the web search thing. No results. Have done RPM database rebuilds, tried yast refresh with and without 'force' option. Same exact result. Have tried deleting all repos and adding just the oss and non-oss, from GUI and from CLI. Can add and delete from CLI, GUI always chokes and has to be aborted. Adding repos via the CLI gets the correct "yes/no" dialogue for agreeing to the proper license, the metadata file seems to come down properly, no problems, no errors. This tells me I haven't munged the URI for the repos, so that isn't the problem. I have cleared out the solv and raw directories in the cache so there are no leftovers from old or stale files. Anyone have a clue what is causing this: # zypper refresh Repository '13.1-non-oss' is up to date. [opensuse] About tumbleweed/factory

Hello all! I have a good 13.1 install in my notebook, but since I have to perform a hardware upgrade (change of HDD and memory), I was wondering if my next install (probably 13.2)wouldn't benefit from being a rolling release. It's an i5 notebook, using the intel integrated graphics and intel chipset (so no nVidia/ATI drivers needed). The only concern I have is that I normally use VirtualBox to test different Windows and Linux configurations as part of my "day" job, and at least before the factory/tumbleweed unification, Virtualbox was not totally supported. Can someone confirm me if this is still the case? are there any other caveats I should be aware of? Is there a way to install directly in rolling release mode, or is it preferable to install a working 13.2 setup and then change repos? I know, a lot of questions... any clue is welcome ;-) Best regards, -- Pablo M. i guess systemd has finally driven me to drink. Heading home for a strong one. [opensuse] XDG_RUNTIME_DIR is not cleared with 'su - anotheruser'

Looks like the old bug is back, when doing 'su - test' or any other user, and trying to launch any X app, it fails because of XDG_RUNTIME_DIR points to the original X session. [opensuse] OCR PDF

Hi, is there any working tool which is able to add text layer into scanned PDF? I tried YAGF (front-end for cuneiform and/or tesseract), but it seems to have only option to save the text as separate TXT file. Cuneiform also doesn't have this possibility and tesseract I wasn't able to get to work (script OCRmyPDF was always complaining about missing tesseract even it was installed). Scantailor seems to lack this functionality. Ocrad wasn't able to start (and no error message produced) and gocr isn't able to work with PDF... Some old demo version of Vuescan I have requires libgtk-X11 which is unavailable. And it is not the cheapest software... Tragedy.
