[opensuse] purging records from Quasar Accounting DB...............

I am running Quasar Accounting and it uses Postgresql for its database. I need a utility to purge accounting data (say from 2006). Natively, Quasar does NOT have a utility do to this. So, I'm looking for some help. P.S. There are way too many records to do it directly with a SQL dump. [opensuse] Again problems with systemd

Hello all, Some problems here with snmpd and systemd on OpenSuSE 12.2. systemctl start snmpd.service systemctl status snmpd.service snmpd.service - snmpd Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/snmpd.service; linked) Active: inactive (dead) since Fri, 15 Feb 2013 18:15:39 +0100; 1s ago Process: 20099 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/snmpd (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) CGroup: name=systemd:/system/snmpd.service No trace in the logs of what happening. The same config on an OpenSuSE pre-systemd (11.4), works perfectly. And, if i try to start it manually, it works. Question: how to debug that problem? Other Question: generally, how to debug systemd startup problems? Any info about this is welcome. And it is a petty openSUSE still have in version 12.2. I recently posted my findings on debian.user newsgroup. I mentioned a workaround proposed by someone in the Debian Bug Tracking System. Yes but I can't avoid vfat on cards used in digital cameras and alike. As I exclusively use openSUSE, (I even don't have an windows install), I can not create an archive on Windows, or I have to use someone else's computer, which I do not prefer. Wow... I wonder if I should read my messages... (referring to the invitation in the original message below...) Usually such things are filtered out for me, but for some reason, the wording and language in this email did not, statistically, look like spam. Friendly reminder? (Yes, this is X-posted, as were the originals below, so just so people on both lists are reminded..)... Some people's email SW strips out email addresses and only puts the name in the content section so when mail-archive services pick up the list, email addressses don't end up as feed for phishing and spamming stuff... Then there are people who don't use such email SW. Using the below phish/spam I got, I'd say, at least these people ought to think about how their email SW is configured to include someone's name on reply: Patrick, Andrey, Greg, and Cristian among others that aren't as clearly attributed (guess they got lucky!). But a friendly reminder about internet email hygiene practices, I thought, might be useful. FWIW, I've been guilty in the past as well and had to make sure my settings didn't violate such courtesies (usually told to me as being rules or common sense, but I'm not quite as militant about it...). p.s. note, I did obfuscate, (I hope enough! -- used utf8-display versions of at and dot -- just watch some email SW be "smart" and convert it back into the ansi equivs...there, mangled the dom's too. [opensuse] WWAN works not when running on battery, only with AC

Hello, I am using a Lenovo X1 Carbon with internal Ericsson WWAN adapter (0bdb:1926). System is current Suse 12.2, the adapter works in combination with the NetworkManager out of the box - but only if the laptop is running on AC. If I unplug the power cord, I am not able to connect to the WWAN anymore. Googling gave me the hint that I should blacklist the adapter in the power management. Where can I do that? Any other ideas? [opensuse] 12.2 Gnome split view - Flash drive

If I open a USB flash drive 'Open with Files' and then go split view, changing one side to /home/user and leave the other as USB I can't copy from or paste too the USB 12.2 x86 Default repos + Packman If I close Files Start split view again with same views.
