[opensuse] KVM fails to autostart guest

I have a kvm virtual machine hosted in Tumbleweed, with bridged network setup. I have set the guest to autostart when the host boots. Unfortunately, after reboot of the host, the virtual machine is not started. Looking at the log files, libvirt fails to start it, because the bridged network interface is not ready when it tries to start the guest: libvirtd[1403]: 2012-06-20 13:23:49.833+0000: 1485: error : qemuAutostartDomain:177 : Failed to autostart VM 'testguest': Cannot get interface MTU on 'br0': No such device I can see that the interface br0 is started after that. So, this is possible bug, and I'll report it so it can be fixed, but meanwhile, where should I change the startup order of the services, so libvirt is invoked after fully working network? [opensuse] Strange! process hogs cpu in opensuse 11.4

An application kmix goes to 90% of cpu. however when I start monitoring it stops. It resumes again when I go back to what I was doing. Has anyone else noticed this or something like it? [opensuse] printing problems in oS 12.1

Hello: I have a Kyocera 1030D printer configured in oS 12.1 (by YaST). I have several issues with printing: 1. When I try to print a "test page / Two test pages" in YaST nothing is printed. "Single test page" works. When I print from LibreOffice 3.5.1 2. printing starts after only a long delay (~20-30 sec), occasionally nothing is printed. 3. when I do duplex printing, every page is printed on different sheets, that is the text is not printed in duplex mode. 3. The printed text is not correct, suffers from lack of printed fonts, eg: nowd ys, rel tionship h s been, etc. That is, it seems there are serious problems with printing. The printer is connected to the computer through parallel port in ECP+EPP mode. I have tried both the PPD offered by openSUSE and downloaded from Kyocera site. I was connecting a commercial grade router directly to the ADSL modem. The "support" person refused to do anything until I clicked on the Start button. He could not understand that routers do not have one and don't run Windows either. He also refused to escalate. I have worked in telecom for many years and will take Rogers support over Bell's Internet support any time. I've used SuSE Linux since version 4.4.1 that I got in October 1998. I've been on this list since about that time, maybe 2000. I don't really remember. Today I am on more than 60 email lists and I own 4 and help with 5 or 6 others. When I joined this list, it was a great list. I could ask a question and in a few minutes get good help. I could also pass on help where I had learned something. But that time is over. Today there are only a very few people that help. One person that stands out is Per. There are a couple of others. To Per and these others, I say thank you. Today most times when I (or others) ask a question, if they are lucky its just ignored or if very lucky get some help. But mostly its "google is your friend", complaints about sigs, or silly flame wars. Many times I've thought that I could answer questions for someone, but didn't due to the "google-guy" or "sig-guy". I knew that no matter what, there would be one of these typess to explain why I was wrong (to put it nicely): I have found that I can get as good, many times better help on Lew's Off-Topic List. Yes, we get into shouting matches there, but it has never went to depths it has here. So the bottom line, is that this list has got to the point I can no longer stay on it. [opensuse] Power failed, won't boot up to desktop

Hi, my friends suffered a power failure at their farm while their computer was running opensuse 11.4. When the power came back on, opensuse won't boot back up. When they try to boot the computer, they get to a screen that says FAILED:module ata_piix not found I tried putting the computer in text mode (level 3) to see if I could do a zypper up or zypper dup in the hopes that that would repair the problem. But it didn't work, what came up was a notice in red that says something like REPAIR FILE SYSTEM. Can someone on the list help me to correct this problem?
