[opensuse] Heartbeat on OpenSuSE 12.1?

Hello all, I must re-install a group of 2 balanced firewall on OpenSuSE, and just today i have noticied Heartbeat is not included anymore on the OpenSuSE distribution... Now my question is: no way to have Heartbeat on OpenSuSE 12.1? Or alternatively, what to use? [opensuse] Why does the 'apper' app not show what it is downloading?

Hi, I have used 'apper' for the 'updating', several times now. It shows an enormous window..... with nothing in it.... just a moving bar.. So why doesn't it show what it does, like zypper, and yast? [opensuse] 11.3 and Hard drives

Guys, I have update my production server to 11.3, I am planing to get to 12.1 by the end of next month. I am seeing one issue that I didn't have in 11.1 or 11.2, I have drives that just go away, I am wondering if anyone see this in 11.3. Because it's a bit of a pain. I thought I had two bad drives and replace them, only to have the new drives do the same things. This is the error message I am seeing... Hibernation, which has been relieably for years, is now crashing at the "Snapshotting system" message since about two or three months, after two or more hibernation cycles. I have hacked the suspend_system() function in suspend.c, adding messages that get printed to the screen so that I can see where it gets stuck. [opensuse] wine app shows no text in translation pane

I am using openSUSE 12.1, on a laptop and a desktop (see below for system info). I run a Tagalog-English dictionary from lingvosoft on my desktop. Runs without a problem. Desktop wine is wine-1.4-2.12.1.x86_64 I tried to install lingvosoft dictionary on my laptop, new, just installed openSUSE. Wine version is wine-1.5.8-176.1x86_64. On the laptop version, the translated words in the 2nd pane are not there. It is only blank. I don't know if it is something with the fonts, or libraries, or what, and I don't know how to t/s to find out. In both cases, the wine installed is from the wine repositories for openSUSE. I had one suggestion on the forums to adjust the fonts in the application directly, but I did that and all it did was make the application crash. Any ideas? -- G.O. [opensuse] OpenSuSE 12.1 Install problem on HP DL380G7

Hello all, Some problems here. Trying to do a fresh install of openSuSE 12.1 64bit on a DL380G7, the installation hangs with a black screen. I have tryied to do it with kernel safe setting, with no ACPI, and also in text mode. After the Kernel loading, in text mode i see some text, then a black screen, and it hangs here. Also, the Rescue System don't boot. Mem test is ok. Trying with OpenSuSE 11.4, it hangs on "ISOLINUX 3.86 0x4d643f2e ETCD". What is happening? Thanks, Claudio. Just a note: the system have 12 Network adapters (2 quad port, and 2 dual port). [opensuse] oS 12.1 firewall problem, internal zone

Hello: Now I have samba server (smbd + nmbd) running, I have a problem with firewall. I configured the firewall in YaST: added the string 'vboxnet0' to the internal zone which is not protected by the firewall. When I try to connect to samba-shares the connection is inhibited. If I temporarily turn off firewall in YaST, the connection can be made immediately. I expected the firewall not to block the inernal zone. This setup worked in openSUSE 11.2. Any suggestion?
