[opensuse] Motherboards

Hi all, I am wondering what motherboards users are using on there Linux box? I had a Asus m4a79t deluxe but in corroded under 2 years and failed. Asus blames the customer oxidation and will not give warranty even though it has 3 years warranty. Strange how a old p5 Intel machine beside it is perfectly fine. Asus warranty not worth the paper its written on. Have a Asus crosshair V formula that spent more times being repaired than been used. It still comes up with eprom errors on boot and runs like a dog and Asus will not give money back as they say they do not support Linux. So we have proved that this brand is crap, what else is there? Am looking at the Gigabyte ga-990fxa-d3, does this board play well with Linux as looking at putting it in what was the m4a79t box. I am at the derivatives page and I see: Get the latest KDE Reloaded CD. Reloaded includes all KDE patches and openSUSE branding. Get the latest KDE Four Live CD. Four Live includes mostly vanilla KDE packages and upstream branding. Built on openSUSE 12.1 with KDE-4.8.x. [opensuse] WPA connection but no route

I am running OpenSuse 12.1 on a laptop, connecting to a variety of networks with no problems using NetworkManager (4 different networks, not counting my home network, in the last 4 months). So my setup should be OK. But I suddenly started experiencing issues with a new WPA network (while away on a trip). My Android smartphone connects to this network without problems, as do several of my hosts' computers. I am also able to connect my laptop to the network over the ethernet. But wireless connection fails in a strange way.The network is WPA secured. I have the key. I enter it in networkmanager. The system connects and gets an IP address assigned. Networkmanager reports that the connection is successful. I know that the key is correct, because when I deliberately put in the incorrect one, I get a message that connection failed and I am re-prompted for the password. So, I get my IP assigned via DHCP. But I cannot reach the network. My routing table gets set up as Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 wlan0 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 2 0 0 wlan0 But then I cannot ping the router: ping 192.168.1.1 PING 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1) 56(84) bytes of data. >From 192.168.1.106 icmp_seq=3 Destination Host Unreachable where "192.168.1.106" is the IP address assigned to my computer. --- No errors that I can see in dmesg or in networkmanager log --- Jul 10 01:29:57 linux-3lvi NetworkManager[1243]: <info> Policy set 'puppiesrule1' (wlan0) as default for IPv4 routing and DNS. I already checked the key in the obvious way: my smartphone connects with this key, and I verified that if I give the completely wrong key, then NetworkManager fails to connect at all. [opensuse] KVM fails to autostart guest

I have a kvm virtual machine hosted in Tumbleweed, with bridged network setup. I have set the guest to autostart when the host boots. Unfortunately, after reboot of the host, the virtual machine is not started. Looking at the log files, libvirt fails to start it, because the bridged network interface is not ready when it tries to start the guest: libvirtd[1403]: 2012-06-20 13:23:49.833+0000: 1485: error : qemuAutostartDomain:177 : Failed to autostart VM 'testguest': Cannot get interface MTU on 'br0': No such device I can see that the interface br0 is started after that. So, this is possible bug, and I'll report it so it can be fixed, but meanwhile, where should I change the startup order of the services, so libvirt is invoked after fully working network? [opensuse] Strange! process hogs cpu in opensuse 11.4

An application kmix goes to 90% of cpu. however when I start monitoring it stops. It resumes again when I go back to what I was doing. Has anyone else noticed this or something like it? [opensuse] printing problems in oS 12.1

Hello: I have a Kyocera 1030D printer configured in oS 12.1 (by YaST). I have several issues with printing: 1. When I try to print a "test page / Two test pages" in YaST nothing is printed. "Single test page" works. When I print from LibreOffice 3.5.1 2. printing starts after only a long delay (~20-30 sec), occasionally nothing is printed. 3. when I do duplex printing, every page is printed on different sheets, that is the text is not printed in duplex mode. 3. The printed text is not correct, suffers from lack of printed fonts, eg: nowd ys, rel tionship h s been, etc. That is, it seems there are serious problems with printing. The printer is connected to the computer through parallel port in ECP+EPP mode. I have tried both the PPD offered by openSUSE and downloaded from Kyocera site.
