Hi All, I've just selected a text to read at archive.org and been confronted for the first time with "We show that you've borrowed this but haven't loaded it in Digital Editions yet. ... Do you need to try downloading Adobe Digital Editions again? The PDF or ePub loans will only open in that program." So, I followed the link to http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/ and the page that I landed on there said 'sorry, your system does not meet the minimum requirements' or some such. <grrrrrr> I opened the xml file, copied the document url and used wget to retrieve the .pdf -- was this a waste of time or is there a Linux solution for this? [opensuse] 12.1 to 12.2 kmail import/export

Are preparing for a functioning 12.2 beta1 and would like to transfer my KMail2 data and settings to 12.2. Had a look at the import function but lost my way. For KMail it mentions "Import KMail Maildirs and Folders structure" Where can I find the KMail2 from the 12.1? With the old KMail it was very easy but with the new KMail2 it is mainly guesswork. [opensuse] NFS Client freezes at large file transfers

Hi, my NFS client machines (opensuse 12.1) freeze if i try to copy large files to the NFS Server (opensuse 11.4). It seems that the /proc filesystem blocks somewhere and user processes freeze therefore. The files are ~10GB and bigger than RAM+swap (=8GB). It also works if i generate a 10GB file with dd on the nfs mounted filesystem. Can someone confirm? Or has a solution? This reminds me of a bug that bit many users: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=702205 You can only be affected if you run openSUSE 11.4 AND the result of the following command is non-empty: > lsmod | grep r81 Note that after 9 months of "fighting", openSUSE decided to turn this into "WONTFIX" :-( Several solutions are discussed in the comments of the bug report (e.g. upgrading to openSUSE 12.1). [opensuse] slow logout

Hi I've just updated my opensuse 11.4 to KDE 4.8.4 and my log outs have really slowed down. The screen goes black very quickly after pressing logout via menu or widget, then it sit there for a while before finally getting back to the login screen. It seems more pronounced when i'm using the "Search and Launch" desktop. [opensuse] Skype version 4.0.0.7 no two different Skype names at the same time

Until the today update I have always used two Skype users on the same desktop. I have two skype names which I use for different and separate uses. I had them normally installed on the same desktop. With the new version I do not get a second instance of Skype. [opensuse] Digest verification failed

I am trying to update a 12.1 system, and zypper gives me "Digest verification failed." for all repos I try to access. If I understand it, this indicates that the server has some issue. If I tell zypper to continue, it just asks again (and again...), but with a new set of vales. Suggestions are to select a different mirror. I am using http://download.opensuse.org/ for all repos. One example that fails is http://download.opensuse.org/update/12.1. So I guess it is choosing a mirror near me. How can I see which mirror is being used? Is there some better way to get past this error? [opensuse] 11.4, eeepc, wifi, wpa2 tkip,connects, but no access to netwerk.

Hi, I use ifup with qinternet, but networkmanager does not get access also. It has been like this from the start. I downloaded 11.4 from 11.3, wireless, after installation wifi did not work anymore. During the network install it worked, after restarting, it did not. On the 'rope'it does work. According to qinternet it finds the gateway, shows the correct ip-address, shows even its own ip address, but there is no log, and it is not possible to access the internet. [opensuse] MTRR message

I am getting the following boot.log msg: <6>[ 1.816124] [drm] MTRR allocation failed. Graphics performance may suffer. In fact it may be what is wrong with the screen. earlier in the boot log it reported that the screen is 1280 X 1024 but when the system is up all I can get is 1280 X 790 or something like that. That is all that it lists. Has anyone else run into this? If so what was solution? I just tried converting a FS from reiser to ext4 and got a ridiculous 'out of space' message - it turned out that the 'lots-a-small-files' meant I ran out of inodes long, long before I ran out of data space. Does reiser allocate inodes dynamically?
