[opensuse] Saving parts of webpages in konqueror

Hiall. looking for something like ScrapBook (https://addons.mozilla.org/en- US/firefox/addon/427) for konqueror, to save snippets or webpages in some orderly fashion. [opensuse] ATI woes, short recommendation

Hi list The list has a rather long ATI discussion (and a fine one at that...) that I've been trying to follow. Short question; I've got an IBM Lenovo Z61p Thinkpad with a stupid ATI graphics thing inside (next time I'll NOT buy anything with ATI inside), how to I find out what version of the ATI driver that is currently running in the machine? What/which version is recommended in order to get GoogleEarth to run? Which version of G.earth is recommended? [opensuse] Google Earth can't find a shared library that IS present

I installed openSuSE v11.1 yesterday in a new partition, and have so far used only Firefox and some KDE apps. Just now I installed GoogleEarth v4.3, making no changes at all in the installation defaults. The installation finished successfully, and it left the GoogleEarth icon on the desktop. Clicking on the icon causes the bouncing cursor to bounce in an encouraging and convincing manner, but after a time that stops and GoogleEarth fails to load. Trying to load the program from a terminal brought a message telling me that the program is unable to find the library <libGL.so.1>. [opensuse] How do I mount a UDF CD?

All, A client gave me a CD written with a UDF filesystem (I think). I can see the contents of the CD fine via XP. With Opensuse 11.1 / Dolphin I get error messages. >From the command line I get: mount -t udf -r /dev/sr0 /mnt mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so dmesg in turn shows: UDF-fs: No partition found (1) end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 173316 end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 173312 end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 173316 udf: udf_read_inode(ino 43329) failed !bh end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 173316 udf: udf_read_inode(ino 43329) failed !bh UDF-fs: No partition found (1) What should I try next? FYI: I already have the data accessible by moving it to a thumb. I would still like to know what is going on. [opensuse] MS-Outlook2007+Wine NOT WORKING on openSuSE 11.1

Hello all, I have installed microsoft office 2007 on opensuse 11.1 using wine and it installed without any problems at all. I have no issues running word; excel; power point; BUT when i try to run outlook i get issues and hence can't setup my mail box. Attached is a copy of the screen shot I get when I try to start it. [opensuse] dual boot install (xp/11.1)

I'm setting up and old computer to use dualboot 11.1 and XP. I began to partition the drive using the 11.1 dvd (box) and installed the distro on the way I used a personal partition sheme. personal, but very simple: primary one windows, rest extended and swap / and data ext3 partitions. When I tried to install XP later, I couldn't. * The primary one partition was seen as unknown. normal, I didn't setup the partition type nor format it. * a small 8gb (on a 110Gb drive) free space was found (or may be 8Mo??) * XP refused to use the unknown partition. * I tried to remove the partition and recreate it. Good. * Format it NTFS good, XP copied it's file to the filesystem. but at reboot time, I had the message "bad partition table" and XP didn't start In a hurry, I removed all the partition, setup a slightly smaller primary one (just to be able to recover 11.1 if needed) and the XP install went well. So I see I missed a step in the partitioning to allow XP install without problem. [opensuse] Slow SSH, well sort of...

I'm on (any SuSE) a local machine, accessing a particular remote machine running SuSE11.0 using SSH all plain vanilla. From my local machine to others out there, things are fast as expected. To the troubled machine (openSuSE11) things are slow this way: I takes a looooooooooong time to log in. Once in, anything typed echoes back as expected, for example "l" to get a directory listing. But - the listing itself takes 10 - 15 seconds to emerge. If I open two ssh shells to the troubled machine and keep an eye on the live log (using tail -f /var/log/messages), I see nothing wrong. I see, however, that the log entry for someone logging in emerges imediately, but the actual prompt (in my second ssh shell) does appear only after like 10 seconds after the line in the log is seen. I do see one line in the log though..it says: "Did not receive identification string from (my IP)" I read somewhere that this is caused "by the host not running ident.d" (??) Anyone knows anything?
