[opensuse] Generate CA for Draytek Router

Hi all, I'm trying to generate a certificate to import on a Draytek router as a local certificate. By reading the routers manual, it generates a certificate request to be imported by a CA, in order to generate the CA certificate. When I try to import that certificate request on YaST CA Management, it claims that it's format is not valid. The manufacturer states it is a Base64 encoding PKCS #10. Also if I try to import a self generated CA certificate, it claims that the format is wrong, no matter what format I export it to. Does anyone has any experience with this kind of routers ? I found no help on this subject on Google... Coming from a 24 year mainframe and midrange background and being left hanging out to dry - slowly, why was REXX never made mainstream in Linux? To my knowledge, it is still heavily used In production in shops that still have the mainframe and midrange, as a crossover / cross interface tool with Windows and Linux. [opensuse] Determining the Version of SUSE

I just obtained an HP 2133 with Suse. How can I determine the exact version of Suse? I would like to install R (http://www.r-projects.org) which has rpms for SUSE. Can I use yum? Preface: I'm planning on starting a program by which anyone that will try it, giving the potential new client a version of the LIVE CD to play with and hopefully be a new convert. I have several in mind already since they've recently gotten burnt by buying a system with Vista. Most are on the fence between MAC and Linux. And not to start a posting war because I know there are pluses and minuses of each .... [opensuse] AWK -- Strange chars used as separators in a CSV like file

All, I have a CSV like file that uses the octal single byte char 024 (or cntrl-T) as a comma and 0376 as a quote char and . I need to strip off the last column and discard it, so I thought I could use awk to do it something like. export FS='\024' awk '{print $1,$2,$3}' my_file > my_output It seems to still be useing a space (' ') as the field separator. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I've also tried FS='\\024' FS='\0376\024\0376' FYI: This may be a one time need and it is only about 500 lines, so using vi to manually do it is acceptable, but the text within the quotes can be very long, so it is hard to work on visually. The good news is that cntrl-T (\024) should never appear within any of the actual fields. [opensuse] 11.0 w/Gnome....how's it stack up to KDE 4.0?

Since I'd be playing with 11.0 with KDE 4.0, and it's not gone well, I thought I'd at least give "equal time" to 11.0 and the most recent Gnome. I've always disliked Gnome. For those who haven't taken a long good look at the most recent Gnome....you should.
