[opensuse] Converting data DVD back to an iso file

I accidentally deleted my 10.2 iso file from which I created the 10.2-GM DVD. How do I re-create the iso file from this DVD, please? (I would like to download the delta for 10.3 and apply it against this 10.2 iso file.) [opensuse] heartbeat problems on OS 10.3

Any heartbeat gurus here? I had a heartbeat cluster running OS 10.2, and heartbeat 2.12, and it was working well. I decided to upgrade my boxes to OS 10.3, with all the improvements that brings. I've determined that there is a new problem in 10.3, which was not in 10.2, and it is somehow connected with interprocess commmunication - The highly available service works, but the hb_gui shows nothing. The syslog entries which occurs when logging onto the cluster look like this: Oct 10 21:32:22 ahl mgmtd: [29617]: ERROR: Cannot start node walk Oct 10 21:32:22 ahl mgmtd: [29617]: ERROR: REASON: can't send message to IPC Channel: Resource temporarily unavailable I'm a little fuzzy on what change might be responsible for this problem, since there are a number of possibilities. [opensuse] Driving me crazy

Hello SuSE lovers/users, I see lots of new names on this list. That is absolutely great ! (over 200 messages today) I love it. BUT, some of you are driving me crazy. Top posting, failing to trim, etc. Please !! Do not top-post. Please !! trim. I have no desire to start a flame war, long diatribe about proper posting procedures, etc. etc. Please!! just go with the flow, about how things work on THIS list. I KNOW, I really do! That the old-timers, the for real experts, the ones who can really give you advice, have grown tired of this. They just go "plonk" and your request for assistance or review of your advice is completely ignored. Is that what you want? Why did you come here in the first place? I find myself "plonking" those messages quite regularly lately. Those are the rules for THIS list. Do you want the answer to your question, or not? I am far from an expert but have been lurking, learning, from this most outstanding list and an occasional contributor for many years now. Come on all of you new list people and you who remain obstinate; just go with the flow. OK ? Trim and bottom post. OK? Any and/or arumentative replies will be completely ignored. [opensuse] Mini-PCI cards

I think I asked this one before, but here goes again. The Linksys type "G" cardbus card for wireless, which worked in 10.2 with the Linuxant loader, won't work now. 10.3 won't even see the card after I told it NOT to use the bcm43xx module. Anyway, what I need is a NATIVE Mini-PCI card that supports, WEP, WPA with AES, TKIP, and CMMP. Does anyone on the list KNOW of a currently available card?! I haven't been able to find one. [opensuse] Swap Software RAID 1 not working, SuSE 10.3

Hello, I tried to setup a fresh install of 10.3 with 2 disks and I used YaST to mirror all my partitions. I had originally my raid swap partitions on an extended partition but that didn't work and I thought that was the problem so instead now I put the raid partitions on primary partitions, which still doesn't work. Any suggestions would be appreciated because I'm completely stumped, I can't figure out for the life of mine why my swap partition won't work. I asked them to email me there specs, and it is a Pentium 4 2.8, with a Pentium D processor. I thought that was a 32 bit, but it shows on the download page that is is a 64 bit. I am still running 10.0 as its been stable, with no reason to upgrade yet, in a 64 bit version. Everything I have needed has been 64 bit, but I haven't looked at the 32 bit in a while, are we passed most of the early compatibility issues? Jan, List I installed the 2.6.22.9-ccj54-default kernel via Yast and then rebuilt the ATI drivers by hand pursuant to http://en.opensuse.org/ATI_Driver_HOWTO#The_Hard_Way and http://www.suse.de/~sndirsch/ati-installer-HOWTO.html. Two issues: First, for some reason Yast/sax2 incorrectly recognizes the card as an ATI RV350 NP. This is incorrect. The card is correctly listed with glxinfo: OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc. OpenGL renderer string: ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600/9700 Series OpenGL version string: 2.0.6747 (8.40.4) The card was correctly recognized and shown in yast while running the 2.6.22.3-ccj53-default kernel. Additionally, using sax2 under the new kernel, sax2 starts fine in 1440x900, but when you make any changes and hit 'test' sax2 goes to a black screen and freezes. Hard restart required. Second, running glxgears as a normal user causes the following malloc error, but does run. Running glxgears as root works fine. Both glxgears and fgl_glxgears frame rates are fine showing hardware acceleration is working. [opensuse] No GUI 10.3 new install

Hi All, after my second download and still the same result ie no GUI is starting, so I'll need help with this problem. Net download from http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3/repo/oss working fine both times. Yast2 working in txt mode also appears to be fine. At end of first boot startup the display flashes 3 times with about 5 sec interval in an attempt to start the x-server ending with a msg gui failed to start followed by more similar msg about the x-output log and indicate the mouse is not configured correctly and last that gdm need to restart after correction is done. Mause+keyboard is a wireless Logitech connected to standard ps2 input. Sax2 attempt to start its own gui which also fails. Swop of ..config with the ..config.install produce a display with a moving pointer but other wise not useable, as The section for the mouse is quite different. The display and the Nvidia seems to be correctly detected. Restarted MySQL and got a a duplicate column error message when an attempt to update the mysql database tables was applied. (unfortunately, error message went before I could take notes and nothing in logs). Nothing seems to broken but unable to repeat error (I suspect because the database schema update has now been flagged as applied). Because there is an issue with funambol I am running MySQL with case sensitivity disabled... As I do not think this is a change applied at the MySQL end (the mysql schema is reasonably consistent across platforms and if this is a case of two columns differing by case this it would generate problems on Windows) I am not sure whether the update has been applied a second time for some reason (then I need not worry) or there has been a change and I should have two columns lexically differing only on case or replaced.
