To run SH file in KDE

[opensuse] FreeNX server problems

Suse10.1, FreeNX-0.4.4-15 Installing FreeNX on Suse10.1 and I'm getting a error message on the NXclient when trying to connect with server on Suse10.1 : NX> 203 NXSSH running with pid: 2817 NX> 285 Enabling check on switch command NX> 285 Enabling skip of SSH config files NX> 285 Setting the preferred NX options NX> 200 Connected to address: 77.2.31.69 on port: 22 NX> 202 Authenticating user: nx NX> 208 Using auth method: publickey NX> 204 Authentication failed. I'm using nomachine.com's nxclient-2.0.0-100.i386.rpm on a Fedora5 Laptop. I have run on Suse server; /usr/bin/nxserver --adduser /usr/bin/nxserver --passwd and had no problems there , but I guess I'm probably hsaving trouble with the keys and I don't no how to fix that. I have goggled the heck out of NIX, with no help. PHP sessions

I run 10.0 with Apache. I have 2 virtual hosts, one for a CMS, one for a wiki. The CMS requires: php_value session.save_handler files The wiki requires: php_value session.save_handler user The problem is one PHP is set for one session save handle, it does not set for the next virtual host. I am looking for a template for web based database handling

I think there should be somewhere a template for web based database handling, others than copy all to gether from different tutorials. Concrete I am looking for web based system, that: 1. needs a login and keep it for all following pages (.htaccess is not what I am looking for) 2. in the first template I am looking for the handling of one table of one database. 3. the first page should allow to select fields by typing in or from a select drop down 4. Only 10 results should be displayed at once (next page, goto page, previous page) 5. Each result should get two buttons: delete and edit 6. at any page should be a Add button 7 option: each manipulation of data (add, edit, delete) should be in an extra database.table documented, including time and date phpMyAdmin is not the program I am looking for ;-) Does anybody know a database template that comes close to that? bye Ronald

Problems with encrypted /var.

Hello! I tried to install opensuse-10.1 with an encrypted /var partition. This created problems in the bootup process. It turns out that encrypted partitions are mounted later than ordinary partitions. This creates some problems because /var/run, /var/log, /var/spool and so on are not available. Is there any reason not to mount crypted partitions along with all the ordinary partitions? BTW: Are there any plans to support crypted root? BTW1: What about LUKS support?

Mounting an encrypted partition

Hi guys, I have encrypted a home partition (SuSE 10.1) and when my laptop boots I get the prompt to enter my password if I do that in a certain amount of time everything is OK and I am using the right partition but if not I can still log on but my files are going somewhere else. I encrypted the partition during the install but I mistyped the password I thought YaST is going to fail when creating the user directories etc. but it did not... it actually work so I thought I must have typed the right password, so I reboot (after the install) type the password and try to login I get an error message that KDE cannot be initialized so I copied the .profile skel file and everything worked. Now my problem is: if I do not pay attention to the prompt and type nothing (it just proceeds after a certain amount of time) I can log in fine but my files are going somewhere non encrypted. I am having a problem understanding why there always appear to be a /home directory even though I have specified the enc partition to be mounted that way....what is going on?? Can I specify that I do not want the system to start without the password being typed and the partition loaded? Has anyone managed to create an encrypted partition on a usb disk, I have some files I wish to keep encrypted any ideas on what is the best approach? Thanks in advance. George
