Airvast Taiwan USB prism 3

Hey All I have seen alot of mail coming through about wireless and thought I would try. I have a Airvast Taiwan USB prism 3 built in to my laptop. When i first installed suse 10.1 it worked like a charm. A few days ago it stopped. I figured maybe some updates messed it up. So i went through the logs and didnt see anything that would have. So I did a complete reinstall of 10.1 because on initial install it worked which made me quite happy and why i decided to stay with suse. Now after the new install it still doesn't work. I have now updated fully my setup and kde and still no joy. Native Supported Wireless Cards

Hello all, Can anybody point me in the direction of a list of natively supported wireless cards for Suse 10.0, 802.11b is ok, or maybe if you have one let me know which one is working for you. I did do a google and found a few outdated and cryptic pages. What I have available (purchased) is a Linksys WUSB11V4. I have tried quite a few things I found when googling but none have come close to functioning, I have built the latest version of ndiswrapper I could find when I started and also tried the drivers that came with the unit and I d/l what was the latest from the web site. Printing E-mails

Hi, I'm using SuSE 10.1 and KMAIL 1.9.1. and set it up to use the system fonts. My fixed font is ETL Fixed, and KMAIL use it to display the text of the e-mail messages. When I print a message, this font is substitute by courier. Even when I set the Print->Systems Settings->Fonts->Embedded Ghostscript Fonts and set up the dirs where the fonts are, I obtain the same results. Any ideas? LC

KSnapshot: Past in OO Writer brings older captures with mouse right-click - 'Paste' or ctrl-V

Hi all, Has anyone had this problem before? I have it with all installations of SUSE 10.0 and 10.1. Two screen captures are made. Screenshot 'A' is made. Pasted to OO-Writer. OK. Region screenshot 'B' is made and then 'Copy to Clipboard' is clicked. The previously captured screenshot 'A' is pasted from clipboard in stead of 'B'. When this previous screenshot 'A' is then deleted in e.g. OO-Writer with 'Del' key, and 'Copy to Clipboard' in KSnapshot is clicked again, then it inserts screeshot 'A' with 'Paste' or ctrl-V. Maybe I should have asked here first, but I submitted a bug: Bug 133587 in KDE Bug tracking system. [opensuse] Problem with bold fonts

Hi, I have installed inkscape-0.43-20 from SUSE 10.1 and have the problem that truetype fonts in bold are not usable. That means: "Arial, Standard" in Inkscape's font dialog is the same as "Arial, Fett". It does not seem to be language issue as "Arial Black, Standard" is also the same as "Arial Black, Bold". What works is italic <-> non-italic, but that's about it. Bold fonts _are_ installed, xlsfonts also shows them and xfontsel successfully shows a bold font when asked to (and a non-bold when asked to). Maybe this is a bug of Xft or the GTK font selector? But they're NOT willing to create new RPMs for openSUSE nor are there RPMs with the actual driver. I think, while focusing on the END-USER, I'll just start to create these RPMs by myself; I guess the .spec file of the released RPMs is available? Up to now I have NO CLUE how to make an RPM, but I have experiance in software packaging in general and I don't see an RPM as something different; so most probable I'll figure out how to do it. Remains only one problem: In best case I can compile and test packages for x86_64, as that's what I'm running myself. Others will be compilable, but I could not test them. Will this be a problem? Could anyone give me some indications on how to process creating such an RPM? I'd take care of all sort of updates (be it new release of nVidia Driver and/or new Kernel's from openSUSE, which require the kernel module to be recompiled). Thank you for all the valued help. minicom - how to "reset" a serial line?

I'm using minicom for talking to a storage array over a serial line connected via null-modem. Every now and then the "conversation" gets screwed up, typically when I close minicom - on the next session, I only get gobbledegook from the array. I've tried sending breaks - so far nothing's worked. Does anyone have a tip on how to "reset" the serial line from minicom? /Per Jessen, Zürich
