Progress bars in KDE

I'm convinced this will go under in the morning-mail again ... but Ill still try ... As far as I know some on the list are involved in KDE ... so something which has been enoying me about file copy/paste/move etc. progress bars in KDE(GNOME as well) is that they only show a percentage .. is it possible to have as you get when you move something in mc ... a file-count bar & a byte-count bar and maybe additionally but not so important I think a progress indicator for each file (if moving/copying,.. many things) ? ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo! CUPS Admin User/Password

In trying to resolve the page size defaults for my new OkiData B4350n, I attempted to use the CUPS web admin interface (localhost:631) but could not get past the login, trying "root" and my root password. Is there a default CUPS admin user/password I missed somewhere? Thank you, Lucky Leavell

Hi, is there any way to not run Beagle when I start Kde or Gnome? I delete beagle.desktop in /opt/kde3/share/autostart but it didn't worked. Regards, Raúl

PAM & pam_cracklib.so Problem

Hi Group I'm having problems with the pam_cracklib module in PAM. I'm following the example from the PAM System Administrators' Guide for Cracklib pluggable password strength-checker where they say the user will be required to select a password with a minimum length of 8 and with at least 1 digit number, 1 upper case letter and 1 other character. I modified my /etc/pam.d/passwd file like so: password required pam_cracklib.so dcredit=-1 ucredit=-1 ocredit=-1 lcredit=0 minlen=8 password required pam_unix2.so use_authtok nullok md5 The example mentions the use of pam_pwdb.so which I don't have on my SLES9 server so I'm using the pam_unix2.so which I've seen on the web as the alternative. I then logged in as an ordinary user and proceed to change my password to "ijnbhuy" It allows me to do so without any problems. The password is only 7 characters and does not contain any digits, uppercase letters or other (symbols) characters. This goes against the PAM module yet it was successful in changing my password. In the end I would like to get the restrictions described in the cracklib module working for more secure authentication on my server. Any help getting this fixed will be much appreciated. Sendmail multiple MASQUERADES

SLES9: netgroup NIS map and /etc/exports

Hallo list, is anyone succesfully using a "netgroup" NIS map in /etc/exports? I have on nfssrv: --- ypcat -k netgroup nfshosts (locomo.domain.de,,) --- cat exports /san/shares/nfs.d @nfshosts(rw,sync,insecure) Then host locomo is not able to mount nfssrv:/san/shares/nfs.d, with this error message in /var/log/messages: rpc.mountd: refused mount request from locomo.domain.de for /san/shares/nfs.d (/): not exported A "showmount -e nfssrv" gives /san/shares/nfs.d @nfshosts If I use the hostname instead of the netgroup in /etc/exports: --- cat exports /san/shares/nfs.d locomo.domain.de(rw,sync,insecure) locomo is allowed to mount nfs.d . Both server and client are in the same DNS and NIS domains, DNS is working fine forward and reverse. The "hosts" and "netgroup" line in /etc/nsswitch.conf reads on both: hosts: files dns netgroup: files nis Does anybody have an idea what may be wrong? -- Viele Grüße ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Michael Behrens

Apache2 mod_rewrite
