Single CPU to dual CPU

Hi all, We have a single P-III 1ghz (coppermine) in our office server. We just aquired a very nice Dual P-III motherboard. If we can find another 1ghz CPU, I'd like to move it over to that board. Two questions: 1. Is it true the tho CPUs have to be pair/couple that matches in some or other way? I have read something to that effect, but it was not clear which CPUs have this requirement. 2. How big an operation is it to move linux from a single to dual CPU setup? The OS is SUSE 9.1 Pro, installed with default kernel. Would simply removing the current kernel and installing the smp one? Hi guys, I have updated the mozilla package via Yast some weeks ago. Just after doing it, when I printed a mail or anything from internet, mozilla has sent the following message to the printer: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The postscript interpreter in your printer is 2014.116 This printout requires at least version 2015 or greater To make a Unix/Linux Gecko browser (eg: Netscape or Mozilla) produce output that will work on any level 2 interpreter change the "Print Command" to use Ghostscript to convert the output down to basic level 2; eg: change the print command from lpr [OPTIONS] to (all in one line) gs -q -sDEVICE=pswrite -sOutputFile=- -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -d MozConvertedToLevel2=true - | lpr [OPTIONS] If you are printing this from ..... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And it repeats the instruction for command line procedure. I have changed the print command just like the instruction, the only difference is that I used the "lp -d printer" instead of "lpr [OPTIONS]" Now it prints ok but with a strange and very awful font, which I really need to change. Probably it is in "gs" that I must change it but I'm not used to this software, so if I can get any help I would really appreciate. I also thought about taking back my mozilla to the version before this last one, but I also don't know how to do it with YAST or whatever. HP PSC 1210 Printer HELP

My neighbor wants his PSC 1210 HP printer set up and, though the driver is listed, when I select it and select 'next' I get an 'unsupported printer' message. Anyone else know what to do? We're talking about SuSE 9 Pro, here. Thanks! -- ..."Yogi" CH Namast� Yoga Studio

I have a Belkin 802.11b wireless card (my Suse 9.1 is using the orinoco_pci driver - I think from realtek). How do I proceed? Thanks Ganesh

Memory prob with Quanta

Hi, Whenever i launch Quanta 3.2.1 of SuSE 9.1, i get memory problems. Ctrl+Esc tells me that Quanta uses 65% of user memory. This percentage jumps to 83% when i open a file in Quanta for editing. My laptop fan begins to work continuously. Is this normal? I searched the list archives but couldn't find a relevant thread. Thanks in advance..

Since VMware WS 4.5 doesn't officially support the kernel in SuSE 9.2, you need to run the VMware 5 beta to successfully set your system up. http://www.vmware.com/products/desktop/ws5_beta.html Or you could downgrade your running kernel.. :) Anders Norrbring
