Saving the KDE default view

I'd like to set the KDE default view from the icon view to the multicolumn view. I've tried changing the view in the current window and then saving the view profile, which I was advised to do a while ago, but that seems not to have any effect. The view profile in effect seems to be "filemanagement". (This is for SuSE 9.1.) Paul Abrahams

Cron & wvdial

Linksys Hardware

I tried checking the compatibility of a Linksys PCMCIA card using SuSE's hardware database and their hardware certification listings. I couldn't find *any* Linksys products listed. While I was prepared for not finding the specific model I was looking for, I find it strange that none of the Linksys products are listed as Linksys sells a lot of very popular networking hardware. Is there another database that I'm overlooking? Do none of the Linksys products work with Linux? Does anyone know if the Linksys Model WPC55AG PCMCIA 802.11a/b/g card will work with SuSE Linux 9.1? wireless config

Greets; Have a USB Key adapter that I have been working on for my laptop. Everything is done except the network integration.Card is recognized, drivers load and wavemon shows traffic. Network integration is missing however. Here is where I get stuck. As I want both the nic and adapter to be activated at different times not sure what I should enter into this file. SuSE detects everything fine (and yes as reported you cannot configure this with yast). Hardware detection reads as follows: Amtel unclassified device Bus: usb Device identifier: 226835 Driver: at76c505-rfm2958 Model: Atmel Unclassified device Old Unique key: 9yrU.qNRvD2d8381 lots more stuff then bus_hwcfg: usb sysfs_bus_id: 2-1:1.0 Any suggestion to complete this last step would be greatly appreciated. 9.1 unable to find ethernet card after 8.2 upgrade

Hello List, We just upgraded one of our servers from 8.2 to 9.1. The onboard was working great until we upgraded, and now 9.1 doesn't even see it. This is what happens at boot: /Waiting for mandatory devices: bus-pci-0000:00:12.0/ /19 18 17 16 15 14 13 11 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 2 1 0 No Interface found... FAILED Setting up service network ... Networking question

I have two boxes, both of which have both XP & SuSE. One box is trying to be the host & the other the client. When it comes to internet and the host is dialed in using XP, the other box can access w/o any hassle, whether XP or Linux. When the host is using Linux, the other box can't access the net w/either platform. I took the host's portsentry down, scrapped the firewall and have 'ip forwarding' checked. I think the resolv.conf is correct... localhost 127.0.0.1 nameserver 205.247.104.20 nameserver 205.247.104.21 ...but cannot say for sure, not to mention what I may have otherwise overlooked. A hint or two would be much appreciated (such as what topic I'm looking for in the SDB). As an aside, I did an FTP install of 9.1 on the client box and, even after boot, I only had to put the nameserver stuff in place to be able to surf the net when the host box was logged in using XP. As soon as I changed the host box to SuSE (9) I could no longer surf, and nothing shows up in the logs, either. Hmmmm. Thanks! -- "Yogi" CH Namasté Yoga Studio

Folks, Where do I find a list of usb compatible devices/drivers? For example, I have a Kodak DX 4350 camera, a HP psc 1300 scanner/printer and am looking at a Nikon ??? camera.
