JPilot on SuSE 9.2

I installed SuSE 9.2 professional last week, and am generally pleased with it. However I did find that JPilot is missing. Both KPilot and Kontact are missing some pieces or have some anomalies that I don't like. One issue is the memo database. Realtek PCMCIA problem with SuSE 9.1

Hi, I've successfully installed SuSE 8.1 on my Dell laptop and working fine. However I use a Realtek RT8139 PCMCIA card which will never load on boot. I always have to reconfigure my pcmcia card before it can see my network. Can someone help me to fix this please?

Loki: Heroes III

I've tried running a few Loki products under SuSE 9.1 with marginal success. Heroes III works, but the tcpip component doesn't. I tried running the loki-update software with S.u.S.E. but the installed product isn't recognized. I realize Loki is long gone, but I was surprised to find the loki-update/install products in SuSE when they don't seem to work (particularly since the loki update server has been down for some time AFAIK). I found a 1.3.x unified update on a Swedish server, but the tcpip component still died a rotton death. A number of other Loki products (Heretic II, Myth II) simply don't run. Does anyone know if there's a sub-project going on to keep any of the products updated?

"icmp v4 hw csum failure" messages Revisted

Hi All! We have several machines running SuSE 8.0 and I am really concerned about these messages, as they suddenly appeared on four different machines. The messages file is filling up with messages like: Oct 22 15:10:08 co-app-11 kernel: icmp v4 hw csum failure Oct 22 15:10:48 co-app-11 last message repeated 2 times The references in Goolge that I found indicate that this is a problem is the e100 driver, which we have. The solution is to set the module parameter to XsumRX=0 to turn off the checksumming. The thing that is really bothering me is why this started all of a sudden on multiple machines. In one case the machine has an uptime of 168 days and then 467 days in another case, so I don't see it as a problem caused by rebooting. Could it be that there is some other machine on the network causing these problems? If so, how? Any help is greatly appreaciated. Regards, Jim Mohr

Anyone have recommendations on a painless WLAN card? I've been trying to compile the RangeLan2 drivers w/o success. The code seems to be very old (was written for Red Hat 7.2 originally) for the RangeLan. Cheers

Configuring Wireless with wpa_supplicant

I'm having trouble getting dhcp working with my wireless setup and I think the issue may be in the sequence of commands needed to bring things up properly. After googling and reading tons of stuff on using ndiswrapper and wpa_supplicant, I'm still foggy on how it all works together, especially with regard to the many configuration files in /etc/sysconfig/network. My laptop is a HP zv5320, I have eth0 working fine and with ndiswrapper, I can get wlan0 working with WEP. Adding wpa_supplicant to the mix and I can connect to the AP fine, but dhcp doesn't seem to work properly. No route and no dns ever gets set up. I'm hoping someone can answer these for me... 1) Do I have to bring eth0 down in order for dhcp to work on wlan0? 2) What is the exact sequence for starting up wlan0 with wpa_supplicant? I've tried various combinations with confusing results... 3) Assuming someone knows the answer to #2 above, in which of the many files/scripts under /etc/sysconfig/network would one put those commands so things can startup appropriately at boot time?
