Can't access /windows/c from user account

I've set up an entry in fstab to let me get to my WinXP C drive, however, it can only be reached from root account. Regular user account receives the message that I don't have permission to access the directory. Here's what the fstab entry looks like: /dev/hda1 /windows/c auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0 I'm obviously missing something but what, I don't know. Getting keyboard input to work with Hoyles Word Games and WIne [SOLVED]

I was able to get the above to behave alot better by putting the following lines in the config file under the application dependant section. [AppDefaults\\wordgame.exe\\x11drv] "Desktop" = "640x480" "Managed" = "Y" Now I'm able to use the application. Diald triggering but not calling

Hi, I've got a problem getting diald to work. I've configured it to bring up a ppp connection to my isp during some specific hours. I've attached my diald.conf file. The problem is simple: diald detects the trigger but it doesn't dial-up to the ISP: Jun 29 23:23:46 goliat diald[802]: Trigger: udp 192.168.30.1/32786 62.37.228.20/53 Next, it should call to the isp, but I don't know why it doesn't work. The modem part of the configuration seems ok, because if I replace the "include /usr/lib/diald/standard.filter" line by an "up" statement (it mean that diald should keep the link up always, during the hours given by the "restrict" lines), diald dial-up correctly to the isp and establish the ppp connection. Is this a bug in diald or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. StarOffice and OpenOffice unusable in KDE on 8.2

Greetings, I have just installed StarOffice 6.0 and Openoffice 1.0 on my SuSE 8.2 system. Both are unusable in KDE - they basically take forever to even respond to mouse input. Almost like they hang, but not quite. But they both run fine in Gnome. All other applications run fine. What could cause this? DVD/CDRW Combo Drive

Recently, there has been a lot of discussion regarding the playing of DVD's on a combo dvd/cdrw drives. SuSE 8.2 was installed on a Toshiba Satellite with a combo drive. The install itself went without a hitch but movies on a DVD disc would not play. Mplayer files from Packman's site were downloaded and installed but Mplayer would not even start. After some research, Ed Harrison's mail to this forum provided a solution. The link to this post is : http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-linux-e/2003-Apr/3850.html. In brief, the modules "cdrom ide-cd ide-scsi" have to be loaded. A file called "/dev/dvd" has to be created as a symbolic link to the combo drive. For example, on the pc here the drive is set up by SuSE as "/dev/sr0". The file "/dev/dvd" is a symbolic link to the sr0 file. In yast, the dma setting for the drive appeared and was switched on. Whereas previously, the playback was slow and jerky, it is now very smooth. Adjusting the DMA setting also fixed playback under windows as well. Regards. LW999

Thanks! It seems that Netscape 4.8 just renders some pages better than Mozilla on some sites, and also, tends to deal with embedded RealPlayer clips too. I went to Yahoo to view some of the currentl movie trailers, and both Mozilla and Konqueror could not play them...Netscape did. So, the question on using the newer Netscape. I think I'll just wait a bit for Mozilla 1.4 as was suggested. Thanks for all the info from everyone!
