dpt_i2o Info for 9.0?

I've Googled like crazy, but can't find any actionable info regarding configuring this kernel driver. Basically I've got a DPT SCSI controller PM2865U3 that works great with Windows 2000 and SuSE Linux Pro 8.0, 8.1, and 8.2. But SuSE Linux 9.0 Professional is misreading the number of SCSI drives attached to the controller (it sees the first SCSI drive as two drives!) and so the 9.0 installation fails. It even sees two SCSI drives if I remove all but the first SCSI drive! I've of course checked termination, terminating power, swapped drive IDs, and even replaced the cable to no avail. A fresh test install of 8.1 in any configuration goes fine. But 9.0 freaks. <sigh> Ideas? Thanks! Mark L. Help postgres

Hello I have a problem in SuSE 8.2, treatment of using pgsql (it programs graph to be connected to the postgres) but it presents me the following error: "Error connecting to the server: could not connect to server; refused connection. Is the server runnig on host 127.0.0.1 and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432? " The connection is refused because the port is not enabled 5432. The service postgres this activated. Thanx for the suggestion!

SuSE 9.0/KDE Gnomemeeting - slow start

Anybody got Gnomemeeting to work properly under KDE and SuSE 9.0? On my system it takes more than ten minutess for it to bring up the main window. I have a WinTV card at /dev/video0 and a Logitech Webcam at / dev/video1. This is an Athlon 2000XP Nvidia MX420 system. Geoff

Hi - Thaks for your suggestion but I can't see anything called SuSE on my menu tree. Wasn't that a 8.1 or 8.2 thing? I'll keep plugging away though. SOUND RECORDING -- Problems

Dylan, Thanks for the help. It got me to look more carefully. I now know that SuSE v8.0, v8.1 and v8.2 were installing correctly to allow for sound recording. The problem was me not using the software correctly. Am now eating lots of humble pie. I can now record on both of my Athlon boxes. Have made the following observations: 1. On board sound on the Gigabyte GA-7DXR mobo ('Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI128') is OK with acceptable background noise level. Unable to set up games controller on this box. 2. On board sound on the Gigabyte 7-VA mobo (Realtek ALC650) works, but with an unaccepably high background noise level (ca -40 dB). I've since disabled the on board sound and installed a PCI Sound Blaster Live! 5.1. This separate sound card has a much lower backgound noise level (ca -70 to -80 dB) and also allowed me for the first time to enable my games controller under Linux. YAST2 had no trouble setting up this card. So we've solved two problems at once! Thanks again Ken Hough

How to setup a HP4300C scanner in SuSE 8.2

YaST/hardware indicates that no scanner is installed However, when I try to use the YaST dialog to configure my scanner, it is correctly identified but setup fails Can anyone suggest the cause and/or a fix? -- Sylvanus A.
