Well, Went to the Linux Expo yesterday. Got a lot of what I needed there yesterday. If you get Forte running right it pretty impressive. Not to mention that the community edition which is totally free seemed to include a lot more (even had tomcat)than what Borland charges about $100 to buy. Also the guys at Borland didn't seem to concerned about their customers. I felt like a product myself. I don't know , maybe it's just me but it seems too contrary to the reasons I started using LINUX ; indeed why LINUX was started. I felt I was received much h better at SUN. Anyway, got my IDE development tools working better than I had hoped. I do prefer to do most of my coding in an simple editor but need IDE's for the bigger components. I am one of Suse's severest critics, but I must tell you that there is another side of the coin. I have run for some time a stable Suse Linux desktop, using KDE, Gnome and some other desktops. I use the command line extensively. My main use of Suse is as a desktop, it simply does not compare in quality to FreeBSD for a server. On that desktop I use, Kmail, Knode, Netscape (which is awful I agree), and a selection of other apps. I also use it for printing and for occasional SMB use (that was a bit more problematic). This is through Suse 6.1, 6.4 and 7.0. The 6.4 system was from a tryout disk on a PC magazine cover. I use an old P166, admittedly with a lot of memory. I have bitched about a lot of things with Suse Linux, and will continue to do so. But I can also say that I have stabler and more predictable desktop than the Windows equivalents I have used AND managed. Some functionaility is missing. It will arrive eventually. Netscape 6

Easy one: How do you install Netscape from the pcplus CD? I tied going to /cdrom1/Linux/ns6/ns6.tar.gz and extricating it to a directory called /Netscape-installer then when I load Netscape-installer.sh then it says /Netscape-installer/Netscape-installer-bin file or directory not found. And when I download ns6 form Netscape a window pop's up and says: /Netscape-installer /Netscape-installer . Pit A.

I've tried gnuchess and it's o.k., but I'm looking for a more GUI type interface.
