I'm sure this is old news, but has everyone running BIND noticed the security
vulnerabilties and patched versions of BIND now on the SuSE site?
Just in case, because CERT and so on seem sure there will be exploits out for
these vulnerabilities this week.
Take care all,
Fergus

Hello Linux folkz,
Does somebody know about any good graphical front end interface for MySQL
database besides the one that provided with webmin package?
I'm implementing MySQL on Linux SuSE 7.0 Pro platform at my workplace but our
data entry 'specialists' are complaining about nessesity to work with MySQL in
command prompt.
I hope to find graphical MySQL interface for them that could partially resemble
some or most of features that provided with M$ SQL7/2000 database.
Any suggestion are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

The mouse is a three button Logitech Mouseman. The keyboard is VA LInux oem
that appears to be standard. Yast identifies it as type PC 104. The connectors
go to PS/2 ports. I neglect to mention that I have two PCs and a mac connected
to a Belkin OmniCube for common use of keyboard, mouse, and monitor. The
monitor is a NECMultiSync FP950. Both PCs have been running RedHat without any
problem.

I would think so too. But it seems very strange that enabling the USB IRQ lets
me get a lot further without a freeze of kb and mouse. I veriied this again
yesterday.
Thanks for your response .....Jack

Sorry I omitted to mention that head and so forth are all
there and working fine. For all purposes except apsfilter
(under user lp.)
I am looking for clues as to what might give the impression
that something is missing when it isn't. Like you suggest,
it is a UNIX* 101 mistake, just not that one.
Directory permissions is the only other thing that I
suspected, but the whole / /usr /usr/bin tree is world
readable and executable.
Someone off-list suggested deleting and reinstalling my
whole print system, including ghostscript and my
/var/spool/lpd tree, (it worked for him after harden_suse
broke printing for him) but I am reluctant to do this until
I find out what really went wrong.
harden_suse is guilty only by association - I have no
evidence to even put it on trial.
btw - my installed driver was uniprint, but the system
doesn't even get far enough to invoke ghostscript anymore.

Pretty funny!

PS Actually this is a very good thing, the general Internet media are not
falling to MS FUD's as much as they used (although a lot of people will
still do...).
