Hi there, I have the very same problem. I'm trying to setup J2EE on my SUSE 7.2 Pro with KDE2.2.1. I can setup any other paths like JAVA_HOME, J2EE_HOME but can't setup PATH. I do the following: JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/j2sdk1.4 J2EE_HOME=/usr/lib/j2ee1.3 PATH=$J2EE_HOME/bin:$PATH export JAVA_HOME J2EE_HOME PATH I have tried everything but it doesn't work. :((( Also in /usr/lib there are two links that came with SUSE installation. One is "java"-> /usr/lib/j2sdk1.1.8 and "jre"-> /usr/lib/j2re1.3. When I , as root, delete those and create new once: ln -s /usr/lib/j2sdk1.4 java ln -s /usr/lib/j2re1.4 jre they will stay as long as I, as user, am logged in. As soon as I restart computer they change back to previous locations! It is very anoying every time to setup those settings so if anyone has a clue what's going on, please help! Hi all! How can i edit the path in which bash searches for commands for a specific user? KDE crash after copy & paste

I have a problem with my KDE that is when i trei to copy and paste several times a string in a textbox of any QT program it simple crash and exits to console. I have another problem with my nvidia that is when i trie to go to console o try to chg from X session to console and back and so on my keyboard lost functionality and i an't kill the task and do resolve the situation. I know if i configure magi key request it could me resolve the situation of lost the keyboard input but every time i try to reconfigure the kernel it askme after i configure it for i module that i can't find aflter configure it even with make cloneconfig The module is: snd-card-ens1371 And because of this yast2 or other tool says it can't configure sounds back and I have to load manualy the es1371.o module. Problem with apache and suse 7.2

[Mon Oct 1 18:06:04 2001] [error] [client 10.234.17.7] user: not a valid FDN: /webexplorer20/index This is the message I get in error log file when I try to use /etc/httpd/access.conf file with Apache 1.3.19 on SuSe Linux 7.2. Server clearly finds /etc/httpd/access.conf file and reads it contents, I get dialog box asking to enter login name and password, but after I enter correct login/password I always get 401 error saying that Authorization is required. Content of the /etc/httpd/access.conf is also fine, since it worked fine on older version of Apache. [LILO,HD] BIG BIG EMERGENCY!

I repost this because people advise me to simply look inside that partition (var log etc) and i _stress_ again_ that: 1) i cannot read hda 2) i cannot write hda _(fdisk) 3) i cannot boot hda ALL (!!!!!) repeat: ALL i did was change boot order and run lilo NOTHING has been done on the hardware which worked 5 mins before. sorry, but i had to stress that because most advisory went into those directions. WHAT HAPPENED: ============== I am unable to access the harddrisk hda, I cannot read the partition table since: WHAT I DID: =========== I just executed lilo after changing the boot _order_ (boot dos second, linux first), nothing extraordinary really. Lilo completed correctly as always, but since then I cannot boot nor even access any partition n that hda. ERRORS: ======= error 0x40 uncorrectable error LBAsect=9 sector=0 end_request: I/O error dev 03:00 (hda) sector unable to read partition table AND NOW?: ========= Running fdisk /dev/hda says "cannot read partition data" Even trying with DOS6.22' DOS-FDISK (fdisk /mbr) did not bring me on, since it complains it cannot read/write the partition table. EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REAL TROUBLE!!!!!!!! ========================================================= I need my data back. I cannot repartition hda, is there any tool to help me out of this desaster? Maybe this is a lilo bug? Since I have not done any thing to the data inside /etc/lilo.conf, only changed the order of appearance!!!! not more! Do you actually have the hard drive attached as master drive in your first IDE channel (hda)? Is the device file /dev/hda correct? brw-rw---- 1 root disk 3, 0 May 21 08:21 /dev/hda Did you try "gpart" yet? Have you tried the rescue system from the first suse CD? It should be enough to boot your computer and examine the hard drive. Post the contents of /proc/partitions, post the output of "dmesg". Rafael
