SuSE 6.4 security patches.

Hi all, I run SuSE 6.4 on one of my 2 servers... This machine is a firewall and an ISDN gateway .. I believe the stock 2.2.14-5.0 kernel has some security problems ... Would an upgrade of lx_suse solve the problem ? On my laptop I've installed 2.2.18 from a tarball... but on the server i would like to keep the SuSE patches to the kernel, intact....... How should I go about the upgrade ... what are the gotchas that i should look out for ? How should I prepare for the upgrade ? Thanks in advance Anurag

I can't upgrade the BIOS on this machine. I wish to add a new HD to this system and was wondering if Linux can cope with a large drive (I'm thinking 30Gb) ? I am booting off an 8.4 drive at the moment. The new drive will replace a supplementary 2Gb unit so I don't need to be able to boot off the new drive. I can't add a Promise controller due to lack of PCI slots. Speed is not really an issue either, its the space I'm after. Can this be done ? If so, is there any docs on the subject. Cheers, Sean.

Dear All I've installed an SuSE 7.0 machine with Reiser FS. I've found that previously installed machines without Reiser didn't have any installation problems at all. After re-booting the machine I now find that the RPM that provides the optional key mapping for various languages was not installed. But when I configured the new card with sax2 (I use SuSE 7), I started having problems with screen redraws: some text becomes illegible when you use sliding bars quickly. I have read all I could find on the SuSe website and in newsgroups, I have downloaded the new 4.02 version, but I still have the same problem.
