date does not show proper time...

Hi, I have installed SuSE 6.4 on my ThinkPad 390E.I live in India which is 51/2 Hrs East of GMT. I have selected a proper TIMEZONE using Yast2 as Asia/Calcutta. The date/time in BIOS is also correct. When I reboot the system, the time is always 51/2 Hrs ahead of the local time ( Asia/Calcutta). I believe, somewhere I am telling the distribution that the local RTC is set to GMT, and hence the date command is being shifted by 51/2 Hrs, but I am not sure where is that set. Can somebody help me ? It is causing me some anxious moments as I am having problems finding out which files I modified at what time ? Thanks. hi2all i've got around 300 mails in my mbox , and i want to apply procmail filter on them. Procmail expects individual mails but not an entire mbox. i tried to do something with the formail that comes with procmail, but the entire mbox gets split as the header of the first mail and the rest of the mbox. ( this happens even with -s flag). Is there any mail filter which could do it ? All i want to do is forward every mail i got to a user ( whose .procmailrc wiill take care of the rest ). can i use /bin/mail uninteractively for this ? regards sridhar -- Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. using mozilla fonts in netscape part 2

Sorry, hit the wrong key in kmail and it sent my last email out before I could stop it. Is there a howto for using mozilla fonts in netscape ( sus 7.0 ) ? I have the fonts, have xfs running and the mozilla font path is in the xfs config file ect. but no mozilla font selection. Must I disable xfstt first? thnaks in advance joe

mod_ssl:certificate.sh crashes: no bin/openssl

SoundBlaster Live Joystick

Good day, Has anyone tried to get there Live joystick port working in SuSE? I have tried the modules.conf as outlined in the manual, but failed thus far. Anyone got it going? It might be due to the incorrect io port....Does dc00 correspond to 0x200? Many thanks, Matt

off topic, but since it seems that so many of you guys know programming, maybe you can help me! (On topic in the way that one day when I am proficient in c, I may become a kernel hacker....) Real simple question but I am pretty much a beginner here: How would I write a function in c be to convert from st input a binary number to output a base ten number? 10101111 entered would be output 175 or 1.75 x 10^2. (Or does this function exist, but I don't know it?) I know it has to be easy but still been spending about an hour now with incorrect results. Thanks

castlewood orb drives

casting my electrons to the solar winds .... Hi group, Does anyone have a Castlewood ORB drive ( scsi or parallel ) working under 7.0+ ? I thought I would hook up the old scsi drive for archiving, but I dont see any info about it on Castlewood.com ( no drivers, software or any other suchlike things) It would be very handy to use it for backups of critical work related materials. Especially if the drive wouldn't have to be formated in some way readable only to another linux box. That would be most helpful as the world still seems to be dominated by Windows users who dont even know there are any other operating systems . Apache not configured with mod_perl in 7.0?

I installed all the perl packages in 7.0 (including mod_perl) yet when I go to the "Welcome to SuSE Linux" page it says at the bottom that mod_perl and mod_php are not installed. Does this mean the default version of Apache in the 7.0 distribution was not made with mod_perl support (I'm almost certain 6.4 came with mod_perl support as a default)? Is there a step I'm missing? When I upgrade to 7.1, I assume Apache will be updated. Will it come ready-made with mod_perl support? Thanks, Patrick Hays
