Hi, I have a H.P. laserjet 2100M printer and I want to know which driver shall I use. The printer has postscript 2 emulation, so I wonder if I can use the postscript option at Yast? [SLE] two nics??

I have a problem, a thing i havent really understood. Why use two NICs in once machine ? Is it more secure ? Because with ifconfig and route you can add up to four ips if im not mistaken on every card.. So why have two cards ? Sniffing the card is just avaible if the card is in promisc mode and that will be as much trouble if you have two cards in promisc mode.. right ? -- Johan __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Roger, You will be able to order an upgrade version via SuSE's website. It's the Pro Edition minus the books and box. The books are on the CD's in PDF and PS format. [SLE] Joystick woes

First of all, thanks to all who responded to my query about the SB Live X-Gamer card. Once I finish rationalizing about how I really need to get a new sound card, this is probably the one I'll go with...:-) Several days ago I was trying to get a game working & was having trouble with the joystick (wouldn't work). Aside from the game problem, when I first opened kcmjoy in KDE, it said that it had trouble loading the driver, and that a joystick was not found. So I tried loading the module with /sbin/insmod joystick and the module loaded fine. Then I opened kcmjoy again, clicked on "load driver" and it worked! It found the joystick & I could do various tests in kcmjoy. It still would not work in the game, but at least I had made progress! Anyway, I came back to it last night and when I opened kcmjoy, there was no joystick recognized. I realized that I needed to load the module again. The module loaded fine (joystick.o) but kcmjoy could not load the driver. I tried loading a more specific module (joy-sidewinder.o) but received some "unresolved something-or-other...." messages. I kept trying to remember if I had done anything different before, and I am pretty sure I had just used joystick.o, but I am not 100% certain. Can anyone tell me what I've missed here? How does one get a joystick to work? I'm using a Sidewinder Precision Pro which is connected to the game port on my soundcard. [SLE] ioports conflict between scsi and sb_mpu

Hi, In trying to upgrade my SuSE 6.3 kernel (2.2.13) to the latest 2.2.16 I have found there is a conflict in the base io address of the ada1542 (330) and my SoundBlaster MPU (330). I can change the ada1542 with jumpers to address 130 but can someone tell me the format for the options line in /etc/modules.conf which tells the system to use 130 instead of the default 330. Better yet, all lines regarding the scsi controller. [SLE] Adaptech 2904 SCSI Card no DMA

Hi all, My adaptech 2904 SCSI card, uses the AIC7xxx driver under 2.2.14. I am finding that it is very slow and no mention of either it or the network card under /proc/dma How do I check that it is useing DMA and how do I turn it on? [SLE] using floppy

what is the best source of info on using the floppy drive? I am jsut now getting around to using it much and i need some guidance. I made an ext2 fs on one and copied some files to it. I tried to read it in kde and it said I needed to specify the file system. My fstab says it is auto.
