hi all, i have a few small questions. How legal is mirroring a webpage like the java-api. i would like to mirror it locally for me and a handfull of other users, to use as permanent and fast online docu. i know, that a good tool is wget. any better ones, or a complete syntax? How do i get into the menubar of the console-emacs? how do i get the line numbers into every line? How could i use one keyboard to control the consoles of two networked machines, so that a can switch between them with ALT-F1(-3):pc1 and ALT-F4(-6):pc2 what are the equivalent files of /dev/pts/.. for the consoles? /dev/tty[1-6]? I would like to: <under X@pc1 :> press CTRL-ALT-F3(-F6) <X-screen stays like before, pc2-screen shows me:> "pc2 tty3 Login:" <login and work> <Additional Bonus-Feature:> use mouse@pc1 on console@pc2 <press ALT-F7, and be back on X11(@pc1) > etc... I would like to find out where CTRL-ALT-FX gets handled?, the Xserver? and where does ALT-FX from the console get handled? Could i for ex: cat /dev/kdb(@pc1) | <networksocket> | /dev/<TTY> ; export <ACTIVE_SHELL>="TTY[X] @ pc2" or the same with the mouse, like: Link /dev/ps2(@pc1) | <net>| /dev/netm ? and then gpm --device /dev/netm --type ps2; does this sound like an approach or bullshit to you? [SLE] ATAPI Iomega Zip question

I have an ATAPI iomega zip drive. While setting up my fstab file, I tried to mount the /dev/hdc device... but of course it did not work. Then I tried to add a number to the device's name, just I am used to do with my HD. I have found out that /dev/hdc4 works. What's the meaning of that number? Why there must be THAT number? [SLE] KDE problem with change of symbolic link translation in suse6.4....

I,ve recently found out that the way a symbolic link is translated is changed in SuSe 6.4 version retail version...... The problem with KDE 1.1.2 is that the link "home/user/desktop/Drive -> /home/user/Drive" is now tranlated as "home/user/desktop/Drive -> ../../../home/user/Drive". Giving the error "Malformated URL file:../../../home/user/Drive". As a result all the links made on the KDE desktop don't work anymore...... Does anybody know why this is..... This very frustrating.... finaly figured autofs out now this problem......:( S. [SLE] YaST and 2 NIC setup

I am having a hard time setting up a SuSE 6.4 server with two 3C905b cards (for Masquerading) using YaST. Can someone walk me through it? It seems as if everytime I leave out the gateway info on the second NIC setup in YaST it somehow messes with the gateway of the first NIC when routing. Also, do I have to change any environment vars doing a two NIC config? Argh... This one is a hair-puller. [SLE] SuSE 6.3 + Netscape 4.7

I'm having a problem with Netscape 4.7 that comes with SuSE 6.3 When I design sites with layers - either SOME layers are in place or some are just all over the show when viewed with NS4.7! If I view the site in IE4 or above all is well. If I view this on Netscape for Windows all is well. Mozilla5 all is well (on Windows). This is worrying because the main site I'm working on is a Linux site! Is there an update available for NS4.7 for SuSE 6.3?
