[SLE] [ot]Help! Sendmail :-(

hi everyone, i'm having a suse 6.4 & am very new to sendmail. i want to install sendmail 8.11.0...have anyone tried installing sendmail8.11? i've tried to follow all the READMEs but i'm baffled! the only files in /etc/mail that it created were helpfile & statistics.(after i run 'sh Build config.cf' So, when i tried to run sendmail, it prompt me ...'error can't find /etc/mail/local-host-files'. i haven't configured, just used the generic-linux.mc & cf. Pls help...i'm lost even having read the READMEs for dozens of times. why is sendmail so complicated?? If u've installed sendmail8.11 pls give me the steps that u've taken. Can any one tell me whether isalpha will treat swedish alpahbets and return true. Dear All, Juergen Braukmann has already very kindly forwarded an apology to the list for the mistake on my part in forwarding a large chunk of images to this list. Entirely my fault, bad mouse-click in the address book which had the unfortunate effect of inconveniencing everyone. I'm very sorry, and it won't happen again. If anyone's still listening, perhaps I can just clarify that these images are the result of a library co-operation programme concerning cataloguing early printed books, not the product of religious mania, the desire to spam, or membership of a sinister Gates and FBI sponsored programme to annoy and inconvenience Linux users. [SLE] burning CD's with long filenames

I am trying to burn a CD that has a load of file names with multi extentions, (ei one.two.three.four.five.extentions). I have tried this command line: # mkisofs -J -L -r -o linux.iso cd-burn/ but the result, when I mount it with: # mount -t iso9660 -o ro,loop=/dev/loop0 linux.iso /cdrom I end up with a strange directory with the name of rr_moved. What am I doing wrong in creating the image? [SLE] Masquerading in SuSE

Having just changed from a Redhat flavor of linux to SuSE I am running into getting masquerading and demand dial to work properly. With my old linux I enapled demand dialing in the ppp options file and then I had ip-up.local load a small script that would automatically setup masquerading rules via ip chains. I am finding that using wvdial and this script don't work very well together!! When the connection times out and ends the dial-up connection everything goes to s**t. The next time that the dialup connection is requested the connection is made but the script refuses to run. Is there anyway to use the Redhat way of demand dialing and masquerading with SuSE or am I going to sleep on the couch until I figure this out. I have a small LAN at the house with a Linux box (SuSE) and 2 Win98 clients. Or can someone reccomend some firewall rules to use with SuSE firewall. [SLE] gnome packages

Just a dumb question. When I installed SuSE I included gnome as one of the selections, but since I use KDE only, is there a need to keep any of the "G" packages. I'm doing some hard drive cleaning, and didn't want to delete any of the packages if they were somehow connected with the KDE desktop. Hi, I have put this in my /etc/mail/access: foo(a)bar.com REJECT After, I have made $ makemap hash access < access for rebuild my access.db and I have restarted sendmail but foo(a)bar.com can still send me e-mails. Why ??? If I run fetchmail with verbose option I can see that his messatge is correctly deliverated to my machine. Thanks a lot, I hate this spammer !
