Hi again. Thanks once more. I've not actually got it (the 6b that is) yet but surely SuSE would not ship with an out of date package. Or would it? I'm entitled to 60 days support with my purchase of the CD's. Would it be worth taking them up on this issue and registering to ask them? Thanks again. [SLE] a2ps and enscript problem

Greetings, Whenever I print using a2ps or enscript in landscape mode with two pages on one the left side of the first page, the one on the left of the paper, is always missing the first 2 or 3 of characters. Anyone know why? I am running SuSE 6.3 and the printer is an HP 850C. [SLE] Bad Block identification

Is there an utility (or method) for Linux that will scan a disk and mark "bad blocks" so that Linux doesn't try to use them? Any advise is appreciated. [SLE] Firewall start

I'm currently setting up the ipchains rules set supplied with SuSE 6.3 but i'm having problems starting them up from rc2.d and the like. My problem is that i'm not sure *when* they should be started as this was not set when i installed the rules. By this i mean should the firewall file be linked as S21firewall or S11firewall in the /sbin/init.d/rc2.d directory. As i'm also going to be using them with wvdial.dod which we are advised to set as S20wvdial.dod, i'm not sure how this would work. As the firewall is going to take the ppp+ interface into account and this will only exist *after* wvdial.dod has started up. Since linking wvdial.dod as S20wvdial.dod, this would make the setting up of the ppp interface one of the last things done on booting up. Basically i just need to know when to set up the firewall rules (via S**firewall) and when to call up wvdial.dod via S**wvdial.dod. Thanks y'all. [SLE] font & netscape (suse6.3, netsc 4.7)

I seem to have a problem. I have installed Suse 6.3, with/and Netscape 4.7 I am running fvwm2 as window manager, but this applies to KDE as well. The problem is that I am unable to change the fonts in Netscape (even the size). I like to run my desktop in a large resolution (1600x1200) but the font displayed in Netscape in barely readable. The choices Increase/decrease font in the view-menu are disabled, and any changes made to font in the prefernces-dialog are not reflected in the browser. I have searched the Suse support-db on several ke3ywords, without any luck. Has anyone got any tips here. Gentlemen: Do not boot up LINUX under VMWARE when already in LINUX. This will cause disastrous/unpredictable damage to your file system. I know, I did it. Should have known better but was fooling around with it. Thank God for duplicate super blocks. I am installing Lotus Dominos on my SuSE 6.2 box. When I run the program that is used to configure Dominos the first time, I get an warning about not being able to find the linjitc.so library: 01/15/2000 10:12:25 AM Addin: Agent error message: libjitc.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory (libjitc.so) Warning: JIT compiler "jitc" not found.
