[SLE] pcmcia scheme at the lilo prompt

I am using pcmcia schemes to switch between networks that I plug my laptop into. I would like to do this at boot, so I read the pcmcia howto, followed the outline procedure, and added append = "SCHEME = scheme_label" to the lilo configuration. I then ran lilo. This does not however change the networking addressing and routing options to the scheme options specified at boot. The scheme_label is passed to the pcmcia configuration as confirmed by a boot messages appears that says that pcmcia is using the specified scheme. However it appear that /etc/pcmcia/networks does not use this in setting up networking. Is there something that I have miss-configured? Is this a known issue, is there a fix? [SLE] Loading Data Into Ramdisk

Hello, I can't install SuSE 6.3 in a new hard disk because I can't go further the very first step of the installation. My computer can't finish the Loading Data Into Ramdisk step :-( One year ago when I installed SuSE 5.3, the amount of data loaded into the ramdisk was 7870 Kb, now with SuSE 6.3 is 14260 Kb (if you begin the installation with CD 2) or 33540 Kb (with CD 1). So for some unknown reason my computer can load 7870 Kb into ramdisk but not the 14260 Kb we need now for SuSE 6.3. My computer is a Pentium 150 Mhz with 64 Mb of RAM and my surprise is even bigger when a friend hasn't had any problem with installation in a computer with the same micro and RAM as mine. I don't know if it makes sense that he has 64 Mb of RAM in two modules of 32 and I have mine in four modules of 16. I have also tried to install SuSE 6.3 from a directory, so I formated the new hard disk and copied the first CD with the order dd. The problem here is that I don't know the path to the image and the system always says: "Cannot find the image! Check the directory specification!" My new hard disk is hdd and I have made some trials with: /suse/imagesi386 /suse/images/pentium /disks/bootdisk No way :-( I don't know if I should carry my computer to the shop I bought it for the case they have to fix something with my setup parameters. Can anyone please kindly help me? [SLE] PPP Woes / Networking problem in Kernel

Hi Folks, I am still trying to sort my PPP problem out, I booted my SusE with the stock 6.0 kernel and connected okay to the network, ping etc worked fine. Which leads me to believe that I am missing something in my kernel compile. I am using 2.2.14, with Networking setup for an ethernet connection. Any ideas on what I could be missing. [SLE] SuSE Linux 6.3

Hi! I've been using SuSE Linux since 6.1 and recently I've updated my system to 6.3. I did a clean install and everything seems great. However, I have a problem with getting sound to work. When I did the install I selected the emu10k1 package. I also selected the Standard Kernel (Pentium optimized). However, I'm not getting any sound. I have a Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live! Value card. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Again this is a clean install of SuSE 6.3 using Standard Kernel and the Emu10k1 package. [SLE] Compiling xmms (formally known as x11amp)

I am trying to compile xmms, which is the mp3 player formally known as x11amp. I unpack the sources and run ./configure. configure detects that I have mesa support installed and so decides it will compile a plugin for xmms that uses opengl. When I run make I get errors when it starts compiling this open gl based plugin. Anyone got a good way of dealing with this? 3. dhclient runs in the background, and it doesn't get a reply from the DHCP server for about 20 seconds. In the meantime the system continues booting and calls route, which determines that the default router is inaccessible and returns an error status. [SLE] Auction software

A customer of ours would like to have an auction area on their website, something similar to E-Bay, but on a much smaller scale. I've been able to find a couple different ones for Windows, but nothing for Linux. Anyone know of anything?
