[SuSE Linux] Registration - Country code?

Hi all, Can anyone tell me what the country code for AUSTRALIA is for online registration? I can't find any reference to it on the SuSE site, and am required to provide what looks like either a 3 digit or 2 digit code. Alternatively I could send the rego by snail mail, but why waste a stamp when there's the internet (VBG). Thanks in advance ... Also, ( probably obvious :0) I've just converted to S.u.S.E 6.1 after being a RedHat user for about a month. I am very happy with my decision, and am glad that I made the switch ... the installation went without a hitch, and I'm using the 2.2.5 kernel version. I also don't get a zillion error messages which I was getting while running X-windows, and as a newbie that is very encouraging ;0). Cheers! [SuSE Linux] Lost Masquerading in 6.1 Upgrade

I just upgraded to SuSE 6.1. I am on the supplied 2.2.5 kernel. I had IP masquerading enabled on my previous 5.2 installation. But now I am getting the error message: "System lacks IP forwarding -> masquerading not enabled" If I lack IP forwarding, does that mean I have to recompile the kernel to get this option included? It seems more likely that such a common feature as IP masquerading would be included in the supplied 2.2.5 kernel. I can't get my sound card, SB 16 (not PnP) CT1770, working. (Yes, I know CSP is the same thing as ASP). The specs show the default setting to be CSP enabled. But CSP is disabled at present. The card was working fine under windows. Any clues as to why CSP was disabled? Should I enable it? I need to jumper IFSD off and APSD off to enable CSP. There is a big empty square on my card, where maybe a chip should snap in. Maybe that is where the CSP should go, thus the CSP was disabled. I haven't a clue. I don't see anything with CSP written on it. Also, my SCSI-2 I/O is set at 140 Hex. The default factory setting is 340 Hex. JP 30 off = 340H. JP 30 on = 140H. Should I jumper JP30 off to set it back to 340 Hex? SCSI-2 IRQ was not jumpered at all. I jumpered the IRQ to 11 as shown in the default settings. Why was an IRQ not chosen/jumpered in the first place? Why didn't this cause a problem in Windows? There was a note on the Creative specs (SCSI-2 DMA is not used). Whatever that means. I really look forward to some answers. Thanks in advance. George

There is a good possibility that this modem is in fat a Winmodem.. He keeps a pretty current list. A quick look at the list showed that many of the wisecom 56k models are Winmodems. [SuSE Linux] Upgrade from 6.0 -> 6.1

I missed the thread where on SuSE 6.1 the kernel version changed from 2.2.5 to 2.2.7 in later distributions of 6.1. I got one of these versions and since I had seen the long thread in this mailing regarding this and so I wasn't suprised. My upgrade from SuSE 6.0 to 6.1 was quite smooth however I was surprised to see than when I went over and looked in /usr/src/linux directory I found that the upgrade had installed the source for kernel 2.2.6 instead of 2.2.7. I've been patching and compiling kernels for quite some time and so this wasn't a big deal for me to go download a couple patches to get the kernel source update to 2.2.9. Still I think it would be a good idea if releases installed the same version of the kernel and its associated source so that things are in sync initially. I'm happy that 2.2.7 ran fine on my hardware and so I was able to download the new patches and get my source and kernel image in sync with version 2.2.9. I would have also liked to try out the OSS stuff that's included but by the time I was ready to try it I found that it only works with kernel 2.2.7 and I had already upgraded my system to 2.2.9. It's not tragic as I've been able to get my SB16 working with the sound drivers included with the kernel.
