Kernel updates 6.8.5 and 6.8.6 fail to decrypt root with systemd-boot

Hi everyone, I'm using Tumbleweed with KDE Plasma 6 and full disk encryption with systemd-boot instead of Grub. This worked nicely until the last two kernel updates. Now, there is no password prompt during prompt for disk decryption with 6.8.5-1-default and 6.8.6-1-default. It still works with the older 6.8.4-rc1-default and previous, which are still available in the boot menu along with the btrfs snapshots (but it is not necessary to boot from am older snapshot). In general, I much like the systemd-boot approach for the single password prompt. With Grub, I need to enter the password twice. The boot messages are cluttered and messy, though, but I think this will improve over time. Any help or hint is appreciated. Thanks Daniel

Tumbleweed : Cannot find ksysguard anymore - is it gone? Libraries are all available and installed though.

I have to setup a bug report and have to list multiple instances of kontakt opening for a specific user. Normally this was done comfortably with kysguard. But the fact is, although the libraries are installed, the program itself seems gone from the repos (or(!) the program is not functional, which then would grant a bug report). Is anybody able to start it in Tumbleweed? dolphin and dicom files on nfs mounts

Hi *, using dolphin I'd like to open dicom files from a locally mounted nfs share, but instead of opening the appropriate app (i.e. xmedcon), dolphin presents the "Choose Application" dialog. When opening the properties dialog of such a dicom file, it shows an unknown type, but dicom image as "content". Trying the same on a local filesystem, xmedcon is started directly, and the properties dialog shows DICOM image as "type" and "open with" xmedcon. With thunar for example the behaviour is the same for local or nfs filesystems. In both cases xmedcon is started on double clicking such a file. Any idea, what configuration for dolphin/plasma I am missing here? System is Tumbleweed with the latest snapshot. TIA. Bye. Michael.

SOT: Thunderbird and AOL

My wife uses Thunderbird on Windows 11 for her e-mail. She uses the free AOL mail. For decades. Today, it stopped allowing outgoing mail. She called AOL help line. Some one using a script who didn't really understand whats going on. After she exhausted her script she started a hard sell for a paid plan. It appears to be only $4.99 a month. I'm unclear if subscribing, 3rd party e-mail clients are supported. The $4.99 paid plan, 2-step verification with a 6 digit code in a text message, or an app password. Does anyone have experience with any of these? TIA, Jeffrey
