[opensuse] Thunderbird memory usage has increased

For instance, I booted the machine yesterday, hibernated it at night, restored it this morning, but surprisingly, Th is not using any swap. This did not happen before, and is rare just after hibernation for any program. [opensuse] Printing a PDF from Libreoffice and from Ocular

What is the trick to be able to successfully print a PDF file from (a) Ocular and (b) from Libreoffice? The question really relates to the the selection of page numbers when printing a range of pages. For example, I opened a PDF file in ocular and selected a range of pages to print --eg, 53 to 85 but the printing started from page 42 (I watched as the pages were being printed so stopped the job before too many pages [and ink] were wasted. The same happened (but with a different PDF file) when the file was opened in Libreoffice. At the bottom of the displayed page it shows the correct page number as the start page for the pp range I want to print but the printing begins from a different page (similar to the experience with Ocular). I also notice that with Libreoffice the left hand column displays a 'slideshow' page number but using these page numbers produced even mare wasted paper. The question therefore is: is there a "trick" in selecting the correct starting/ending pages to be printed when a PDF file is opened in either Ocular or LibreOffice? All help most appreciated. [opensuse] Problem with Btrfs - it thinks disk is full

Hi, I installed twice new TW system (once after replacement of disk) using TW snapshot 20200205 image. Installation went fine, but on running system I repeatedly run into problems with 'df -h' showing no space available, but 'sudo btrfs fi show /' correctly showing plenty of space. Fix is possible by using 'sudo btrfs balance start /' - it usually enlarges limit for Metadata. I never had such issue on older system (updated to the same TW snapshot), but I keep having it regularly on new installs. Is it some known bug with Btrfs, or should I report it? [opensuse] Nextcloud client

Hello, I use Nextcloud client on openSUSE 15.1 plasma (kde) I plan to use Nextcloud pretty extensively as I just setup a personal server with lot of disk space. but, right now, when I add anything on my Nextcloud account, it's downloaded on my laptop disk. [opensuse] Boot failure after kernel update

Hello, today, I did a "zypper update" (after a long time) This upgraded my kernel to vmlinuz-5.5.1-4.g267811a-default After that, I was no longer able to boot: - At the prompt to typing LUKS key, the USB (cherry) did not work. - using a PS2 keyboard, I could type the LUKS key, but the LUKS volume could not be accessed. Investigation showed, that mkinitrd failed to add a lot of modules to the initrd image. This started happening after the last snapshot of January. I've got kde set to remember the last shutdown. LS, I can't start postfix or nfs-server because /etc/services is relocated to /usr/etc/services as from Jan 30. Other programs are not accordingly adjusted! This happens both under TW and 15.1. [opensuse] Virtualbox - heads up - no support for Linux 5.5 kernel (yet)

All, Just a heads up if you rely on virtualbox guests. I've run into issue with updates surrounding the 5.5 kernel that prevent guest from starting even after a downgrade of the kernel itself back to the prior working version (there are other files updated to support the 5.5 kernel that come into play -- I have yet to solve this) Virtualbox is aware of the changes needed to the kernel, but I suspect there will be more involved. I'm not sure of the latest python changes, but on my to check list is that package.
