[opensuse] Editing a Word document with LO, entries in form fields are not saved ??

Last week I filled in a word document with some standard form fields, saved it and sent it off by email. It turns out most of my changes were not saved ??? It used to work, no problems. Since the last time I filled in this document, I upgraded my laptop to 15.2 .... sound familiar to anyone? [opensuse] How to connect two distant machines via openVPN while using KDE Plasma.

I have following project: machine A (Italy) machine B (Germany) Both machines should share a private network via openVPN. The users should not be able to access data on reciprocal homedirectories if not otherwise set. The users shall share: online games, gajim chat (local that is from machine to machine), Knotes). For the beginning: experience of mine setting this up is zero. Permissions of home: So, first thing I would like to know what permissions I have to set for the home of the users. I suppose both users interacting have to have 700 as permission (umask 077)? [opensuse] unbound as recursive DNS server - question about setup.

I tried to set up unbound with 15.2 but ran into serious difficulty. Is there any guideline on how to set up unbound as recursive dns server with e.g. 15.1 (I had to go back because of compatibility problems). What actually happened was that it claimed either syntax errors, or was not able to run without dnsmasq installed. Both should not be the case. In particular the QNAME Minimisation did not work after the install which induces me to belief that it was just still dnsmasq to be used.That is why without it, it did not work any more. [opensuse] Click to open web browser - but which one

My default web browser is Firefox. I normally click on a URL in a Thunderbird message to open that. Recently Medium.com have altered their style sheet so that there is conflict with the settings i have for my Firefox. Rather than try to battle this I open the medium.com pages in Chromium, which is set to strip out style. I get to read the article and see the illustrations without the 'dress-up'. Is there some way that I can set the Thunderbird to decide which web browser to use? [opensuse] Kernel versions and multiversion

I want to add a specific kernel to the list of ones to keep. I thought this would be straight forward. For example, I want to keep the kernel in this RPM: kernel-default-5.8.15-1.2.x86_64 That RPM says: Version : 5.8.15 Release : 1.2 uname when it is running says: 5.8.15-1-default So, for the multiversion definition, which is the version to specify? 5.8.15-1.2 5.8.15-1-default I suspect it should be 5.8.15-1.2 as that is in the RPM. [opensuse] cfdisk/util-linux inserts 2048 sectors between logical partitions, why?

Hello: I have a 250 GB SSD I want to partition with cfdisk. It is from util-linux 2.33.1, default on openSUSE Leap 15.1 I have. I've set a DOS compatible msdos partition scheme. The created partitions in cfdisk are: Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type /dev/sdb1 2048 8390655 8388608 4G 83 Linux /dev/sdb2 8390656 92276735 83886080 40G 83 Linux /dev/sdb3 92276736 176162815 83886080 40G 83 Linux /dev/sdb4 176162816 488397167 312234352 148.9G 5 Extended ├─/dev/sdb5 176164864 218107903 41943040 20G 83 Linux >> ├─/dev/sdb6 218109952 260052991 41943040 20G 83 >> Linux ├─/dev/sdb7 260055040 301998079 41943040 20G 83 Linux └─Free space 302000128 488397167 186397040 88.9G The primary partitions are aligned right after each other. Eg sdb1 ends at sector 8390655 and sdb starts at 8390656. But between logical partitions cfdisk inserts 2048 empty sectors. Eg sdb4 starts at sector 176162816 but sdb5 starts at 176164864. There are 2048 unused sectors between the two. Similarly, sdb5 ends at 218107903 but sdb6 starts at 218109952. Again there are 2048 unused sectors between the two. 1. Why does cfdisk insert these unused spaces between partitions? 2. If I used parted and aligned the extended partitions right after each other (like the primary partitions) would it cause any problem? [opensuse] Simple OpenVPN setup with leap 15.2 as a simple server and windows clients?

Hi there, noob here with openvpn, having simple leap 15.2 machine, two network interface cards (ethernet), one connected to some xdsl router, second connects to the actual LAN on the premises. I want to allow openvpn clients on windows to connect to this LAN from the internet. Is the SDB infopage at <https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:OpenVPN_Installation_and_Setup> still current and good advice for a very simple setup? I only need like two or three clients (windows) at max from the outside. I have dhcp server on the linux machine as well on the LAN network card. I dont have a fixed public ipv4 IP; so some dynamic dns provider will do I guess, but I have direct public ipv4 reachable from the outside. [opensuse] record a webinar at night

I have a recurring webinar that is set to go for about an hour and a half in the daytime in Asia, but that puts it right in the middle of when I am asleep at night here. Anyone have any ideas on how I might record the screen and sound, but have it automatically shut off recording and save it after a specified time limit, like 1.5 hours?
