[opensuse] grub2: vbeinfo not found

When I try that with 42.3/2.02 on a fresh UEFI installation, I get grub> vbeinfo error: can't find command 'vbeinfo'. grub> _ Same machine also has Debian Stretch, which also can't find vbeinfo. hwinfo --vbe shows only a portion of the modes the display actually supports when used with non-UEFI PCs. [opensuse] Latest firmware update (intel graphics) destabilize ironlake chipset

Just to let people know (I do not know if this is worth a bug report as older hardware is considered "older hardware". Unfortunately it is a perfectly functional "older hardware"...) With the 4.x versions of the leap kernel the stability of the system was admittedly not great (max uptime 1d and a few hours) but still you had a day to work peacefully. With the firware update time to graphics crash under kde plasma 5 is from some minutes to maximal 2-3 hours. And that without any suspend to ram or to disc (that was the issue before). I did revert to the old firmware and blocked it. However, as long as this is not intentional.... currently there seems really to be a problem. Crahses are violent and leave you with a yello stripe on the left side on the screen. Machine shuts down after ca 20 seconds by itself. Data is lost, especially email and attachment with akonadi if the crash happens during or after reception. [opensuse] RTL8812AU

Hello, The RTL8812AU wireless chipset seems to have a driver for quite some time. So I got a USB dongle with it as I really want 5 GHz. I found a package called dkms-rtl8812au in the home:Ximi1970:Dkms directory, installed it... but the network does not work. A connection is reported by iwconfig but there is no actual network connection. Ifconfig does not report an IPv4 address for wlan1 (the new adapter), and there seem to be "DWARF2 unwinder stuck" error (?) messages in dmesg. So is there any version of the RTL8812AU driver that actually works? [opensuse] trying to install dbus-1-python - depends on bumblebee' ??

I'm configuring a new storage server (leap423) and tried to run targetcli-fb. It seems I need a module 'dbus' which is provided by 'dbus-1-python'. Hello, (trying to rephrase a failed thread) I have Leap 42.3 I am having issues with a new wireless dongle and I suspect I could fix them by lowering the MTU (ping is stable, some transfers hang, causing this suspicion). But somehow, no matter what I do, MTU remains at 1500. Using yast, I set it to 1400 in the /etc/sysconfig editor (then rebooted), and it is also at 1400 in the network settings editor, but it is still 1500 in the ifconfig output. A setting on the router side does ont seem to be available. So how do I force the MTU (for wlan1) to 1400?
