One hand the pairing function for 13.2 is broken for BT mice (the problem is known and a won'tfix because it does substantially work in kde5). So it is fixed in Leap. But I found out today that the pairing function for bluetooth devices is broken at least for Samsung GMS smartphones in Leap too. Pairing fails and several odd things happen (like phones that are not paired are still able to be browsed by the PC, etc. I will check if someone did report this already if not open a bug report. Sure is that even if defining a manual PIN this does apparently not allow the mouse to connect if the other notebook/PC sends the correct password. So probably the mouse is limited (which in case of broken pairing function as in 13.2 makes BT mices for 13.2 useless). The logitech documentation of the device is......pitiful. [opensuse] I am confused: "high end" graphics Laptop for Suse (in Spain)?

Hi list(eners) I need to buy a new laptop and am very confused with the new hardware and it's compatibility with OpenSuse (I guess I will install leap?), especially this secure boot thing etc. I see that most of the laptops come with Win10 plus special stuff (cloud space and don't know what else), but I plan to reformat the disks and make a pure, fully encrypted Linux-machine, no dual boot, but Win within a virtualbox (needed for some camera software). What do I have to look for/make sure to have/not have, so that I can do a more or less easy install without being an expert, and without too much time to tinker and solve problems? Anybody has experience with recent HP, Asus, Lenovo? And how about Toshiba, which always seem to be cheaper? The tests I found are outdated (or not dated) or not related to Linux. So any hints are much appreciated! (And if anybody has hints where to best buy in Spain: great!) If you run KDE and have an Android phone, and you haven't heard about this little gem you might want to look into it. Free app for the phone, and a plugin to the KDE system settings panel. I run it on KDE 4.xx on OS 13.2 as well as on KDE5/Plasma 5 on Manjaro Linux. [opensuse] leap boots randomly

Hello, I have a problem with Leap that seems to get worst. Leap boots only randomly (that is boots completely only once in a while). [opensuse] Is there a way to create a portable openSUSE setup?

Greetings! I know most of the Ubuntu derivatives can be made into portable, persistent installs in USB drives. Is it possible to do the same with openSUSE? I need to be able to run some hardware compatibility tests and performance measurements in a new set of workstations, and doing them under oS, without disturbing the already installed Windows version is a requirement (hardware compatibility with oS is one of the things I need to test). I need to be able to customize, install, remove and save data to the oS install, so it needs to be persistent between sessions. Does anyone know if this is possible, and how to go about it? Hello everybody. Question: a friend of mine has two PC. a) a home PC midi tower with normal keyboard b) a notebook both have BT support. She has bought a new mouse logitech BT587 and wants to do the following: to take the mouse and use it regularly on both computers. Problem is up to now that I cannot pair the device with both PC. Once it is paired with one, it does not function with the other (of course if the other PC is switched off). The reason is the automated pair function. So: 1) can I "clone" the BT paired folder to the laptop to use the same device with two computers? 2) can I pair both PCs without loosing the mouse on any of them and how would I achieve this. (Leap, KDE) 3) if I cannot do so, there is a problem that arises. I can easily pair the device because of the touchpad of the notebook. But on the PC I have a problem because to pair it with the kde BT I need a mouse, but that IS (or should be) my mouse. So can I create a shortcut that corresponds to an easy keyboard function and point it to the function of: "pair a new device"? In that way that the BT search function opens, the mouse can be selected with up/down keys between the devices and then enter key will pair and from there on the mouse is available, problem solved... Thank you for all eventual solutions. P.S. the user is not "CLI" expert so to define a keyboard shortcut to reach from "naked started desktop" would be the most viable solution in case of case "3". --- Alle Postfächer an einem Ort. [opensuse] help with 4way_handshake_timeout

The wireless card on one of my systems will not connect. I am running wicked under 13.2. Looking at Google, they suggest changing the channel to improve signal strength, or extending the allowed time out period. Is there a way under openSuse to read the signal strength? What file needs to be modified to extend the time out period? Or other suggestions if the above are bogus hints. Hi my little Software Updater widget says its "Checking Updates" and its never getting to a point where it decides there are either "None" or "at least one" - how can you inform it to give up and try again later? I checked the System Activity (all Processes, Tree view) and it shows packagekitd with children of snapper.py and btrfs-defrag-pl - i'm not using btrfs, why is it loading a defrag for it? I've also got 4 stopped "plasmashell" entries in System Activity - should they go away? [opensuse] sometime Dolphin bugs on copy

Hello Is there a way to read the logs of Dolphin (Leap, Kde plasma5?) When I try to copy folders from two Dolphin tags, I often get the error "found a file when a folder was expected" as it's not always, I would like to have more infos before posting a bugzilla entry. This just come right now when trying to copy a folder tree, but it's not the first time. Usually closing Dolphin and reopening it allows the copy. [opensuse] Strange update problem - Leap 42.1

Hello, I have been unable to update (via zypper, YOU or apper) since some time. It behaved normally after the initial install for some weeks. I can ping "google.com", Skype is working fine and I can access web pages with FF. But Apper says that the "network is offline". YOU fails to access multiple respositories. Also when I try to add a repository, I reach the page where I can select the community repositories but then I click next it gives the error that it failed to find any list of repositories. I have 13.2 on separate partitions and it behaves perfectly fine.
