You've got a working radvd running of course. bug#916045 that you mentioned was closed as a duplicate, but it seems to be more concerned with how to set use_tempaddr=2, and less with you not getting a random address. Maybe if we compare environments: I have some desktops, pads and smartphones on IPv6 - openSUSE 12.3, 13.1 and 13.2 plus various iOS and Android. Even a desktop with openSUSE 10.3. On the latter, I have just now enabled privacy extensions: sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.eth0.use_tempaddr=2 ifdown/up eth0 et voila, a random address. [opensuse] FF downloads->open folder open is a black & while "Files" viewer -- how to change?

All, The downloads (downarrow) in the toolbar (next to the chat smiley face) lets you click it and see a list of recently downloaded files. When you click the little "Open Contained Folder" folder icon, FF brings up a black & white confused little file manager called "Files" created by "The Files authors". It looks like a stripped down version of nautilus. screenshot [72k] http://www.3111skyline.com/dl/suse/bugs/131/ff/files_browser.jpg How can I/can I change the hook in firefox so I can open a different browser? I've searched about:config and applications, but either didn't look under the correct (download, browser, containing, etc....) search term or didn't recognize it when I found it. [opensuse] Dual Scroll 2 Windows (I can't recall if or how)

All, I must be getting senile, but I recall a key combination in KDE that would that would lock the scroll of two windows together. I has been several years since I've had the need to use it, and now can remember how/what it was. I can't remember if it was a 3rd party app or something that was part of the desktop. I tend to think it was some basic part of the desktop. My google foo has failed (it must have been an obscure bit of functionality). Does anybody else recall such a feature? [opensuse] Strange boot failure

Hi! Out of the sudden my 13.2 Thinkpad refused to boot. See: http://git.infradead.org/~rw/os132_boot_fail.jpg No getty, no X11, no nothing. How can this happen? The kernel did not panic, keyboard worked but systemd refused to continue. Hello, I made a bit of mistake that I cannot appear to get out of. I modified my /etc/default/grub file to include the 1920x1200 resolution as I described previously. I have another disk in my computer, and an opensuse USB disk. When I performed my grub2-mkconfig it captured these two system also. Now if I unplug my USB drive, the system gets messed up and will not respond to commands. What commands can give grub2-mkconfig so that it will ignore the USB and other drive? It may think that that the USB is my primary system, though when during boot I f2 and the tell it to boot from the hard drive the same things happen. With me it depends on the "Fast TSC (timestamp counter) calibration" It is not an important issue but if it annoys you you may try the following grub parameter to see if this helps: clocksource=hpet A discussion of this problem you can find it here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18055593/how-to-solve-fast-tsc-calibrati… Don't be fooled by the subject, it is not limited by Linux booting in Virtualbox. [opensuse] Kernel v4 status & experience -- default, Xen Dom0 & DomU?

I caught the recent thread re kernel v4 (from Kernel Stable) use and some of the experiences being reported. Here, for desktop I'm seeing stable use with -default & -desktop. But the situation is getting slowly worse as version increases in the Xen Dom0 & DomU cases. At the moment Boots -default Boots -xen Dom0 Restarts -xen Dom0 Boots -xen DomU Pkg available? ( or -desktop) 3.16 Y Y Y Y Y (OS update) 3.18 Y Y Y Y N (ex - KernelStable) 3.19 Y Y N N N (ex - KernelStable) 4.0 Y N ? N Y (KernelStable) Anyone else seeing different behavior in these Xen server instances? Would be useful to hear either way.
