[opensuse] Errors with 13.1 64 bit

I have recently been getting errors on the computer used as my firewall/router. When these errors occur, I cannot log into that computer, but it continues routing as normal. [opensuse] boot fails with LVMs-on-RAID; systemd "Timed out" and "Dependency failed" errors ? referred from systemd-info ML to 'downstream'

I'm working on an opensuse 13.2 machine running systemd v210. It's disks are all on RAID. /boot is on RAID1 on /dev/md126 The remaining partitions are on LVM-on-RAID10 The LVs are LV_ROOT VG0 -wi-ao--- 20.00g LV_SWAP VG0 -wi-ao--- 8.00g LV_HOME VG0 -wi-ao--- 100.00g LV_VAR VG0 -wi-ao--- 1.00g The system fails to boot, dropping to a maintenance mode prompt. Simply hitting Ctrl-D to continue, finishes booting the system. After boot, checking journalctl -b | egrep -i "Timed out|result=dependency" | egrep -i "dev|mount" Feb 20 08:16:15 ender systemd[1]: Job dev-VG0-LV_HOME.device/start timed out. I.e., all the LVs are correctly mounted and fully functional. Why are these time-outs & dependency-fails occurring? [opensuse] Migrating older opensuse box: Keeping old ssh private keys of sshd good idea or better recreate sshd keys?

Needing to replace some older 11.something opensuse box, need new hw as well, so I am looking into fresh install of 13.2 but should I copy over the old ssh key files from the sshd to the new box on the new disk structure or better restart with sshd privatekeys from scratch? Is there any interesting human-readable output that I can parse and interpret and analyse the private sshd keyfiles so that I know their technical details, encryption, strenght and all? I am not a crypto expert at all. [opensuse] How to continuously log terminal emulator session data ...

openSUSE-13.1, KDE The subject doesn't quite say it right. I'd like to be able to keep a continuous log of terminal emulator session data in a text file, and the data in the file to be equivalent to that I'd get by using, e.g., the konsole "File >> Save Output As..." menu item, except that the data would be saved continuously during operation rather than being batched at the end, or having to be done manually. I like the way that, e.g., konsole, follows scrollable/non-scrollable modes so that output from cursor-addressable programs (e.g., vim) is not saved in the session log, making it much more readable and, hence, more usable. Other options (e.g., the script command, or the screen "logfile" option) store literally everything in the history file, muddling it up with useless cruft. If there were a way to easily post-process the data, this might not be too bad for a log saved via the script command. However, with screen, the extraneous data interferes with exploring the scrollback buffer since it results in escape sequences and random data blank areas in the scrollback. Is there some way to set things up so this doesn't happen, or are their other utilities to accomplish this? Basically, I'd like to be able to save a log of an interactive shell session into a text file contemporaneously with the interaction with the shell, and to eliminate all output from programs running in cursor-addressable mode. The scrollable terminal emulators do this by honoring the "ti" and "te" termacp (and the equiv terminfo) attributes. Are there any other related programs that also honor those attributes while saving the session data? Does anyone know how to accomplish what I am attempting to describe (but without much success it seems)? [opensuse] Cannot boot from CD/DVD

I'm currently running OpenSuSE 12.3 and would like to update to 13.2. I've downloaded the iso for 13.2 and burned to a DVD. When I try to boot form the DVD the computer stalls at the "Booting from CD/DVD:" for a few minutes and then boots from the HD. Please let me know if anyone has seen this problem before. I have no idea why I cannot boot from the DVD. Any suggestions on how to move forward? Howdy, I just recently purchased a new laptop, and I have noticed that there is no num lock LED anywhere to indicate that that I have changed the numeric keypad to input numbers instead of the navigation keys. I was wondering, has anyone developed a kde widget that could be installed in the system tray that would indicate if the num lock has been activated? This would be very helpful, as I am constantly switching back and forth. The page up and page down keys are only on the numeric keypad, so in order to use them I have to turn the numbers off. I have noticed that a lot of laptops are removing this led indicator, so it seems that some kind of widget would be the perfect way to be helpful in this area. [opensuse] Help with window manager

I am trying to use the openSuse 13.2 version of FVWM2. I find that none of the control characters such as ctrl, esc. or shift appear to be passed to fvwm2. These characters are used to modify the functions of mouse buttons and function keys. Is there any way to enable the transmission of these characters? I ran xev and saw that these keys are passed to a window running under fvwm2. But they do not appear to be passed to fvwm2 itself. I am trying to understand what software exists between X and the window manger that might cause this. Is there a setup to enable passing these to the window manager? I ran the fvwm2 version under Fedora18 and the characters are passed as expected. The sample .fvwm2rc file supplied with the distribution does not employ these keys. FVWM2 may be considered off topic, but please be kind. In my previous posts responders always say I should include more info. I have tried to include my problem and all of the tests I have performed. Hi everyone, I'm doing research on code reviews and static analysis tools at the SERG group (http://swerl.tudelft.nl/bin/view/Main/WebHome) of the Delft University of Technology. Currently, we want to give an overview of the usage of code review and static analysis tools in open source projects. Therefore, I would be very happy to know a little bit more about how code reviews are used in OpenSUSE and if (and maybe how) static analysis tools are used. I have a couple of questions for anyone willing to answer: 1. Do all developers (contributors and core developers) have to submit a code review for every change? I’m asking because many projects only review changes made by contributors. 2. Which code review tools are used? 3. Are static analyzers used? If they are used: a. Is passing the checks of the static analyzers necessary for a change to be accepted? b. Which static analyzers are used?
