[opensuse] What IS wrong with multimedia in 13.1?!

What IS wrong with VLC and k3b in 13.1? I cannot play Blu-ray files using VLC in 13.1 even though I have (as far as I know) all the necessary files installed - yet I can play the same Bd discs (or rather open the Directory-ies or execute individual m2ts files) in openSUsE 12.3. I cannot do a copy of, eg, a CD using k3b - keeps coming up with an error of not being able to open the disc - in 13.1 while k3b in 12.3 happily and without any drama makes a copy of any CD I "throw" at it! 12.3 = OK. 13.1 = crap. Why? I have another thread here which I started days ago, Subject "13.1 + vlc + Blu-ray", but now k3b is involved so I thought it best to start a new thread. MOST frustrating re above simply because both work as expected in 12.3 but suddenly 13.1 goes belly-up re these 2 applications. Anybody suggest, please, steps to take to resolve this situation? [opensuse] Why I hate upgrading ....

<rant on> Tonight I deciced it was time to give our laptop an upgrade, I ran "zypper up", quickly glanced over the stuff to be done and said "yes". It's not the fastest of laptops any more, it took about 90 minutes until it suddenly changed mode and the "crescent" symbol started flahsing. I think that means suspended. I have no idea why it would suspend just like that, but when I tried to reboot it, it couldn't access root any more, so kernel panic. Oh well, I know what my Saturday morning is going to be spent on. Hi, I'm trying to get a vpnc tunnel on OS 13.1 but I can't get connected. I know the parameters are good, because on OS 12.2 these work fine. [opensuse] OpenSUSE 13.1 Desktop Folder View

Hi All, I have finally upgraded to 13.1 with few issues. I have my desktop set as folder view, but when I reboot my system the files from my desktop are not shown! Just a space where my files should be. I change back to the default desktop then back to folder view and they appear again! There is no other way to describe this as incredibly annoying! :/ Any clues? [opensuse] Automount sshfs share locks up ls and Konqueror when share not available

I have been trying to set up sshfs to access another computer. When I'm on the local network the share works fine. However, if I'm not on the local network and the share is not reachable, I cannot run ls or use Konqueror on my home directory, as they lock up solid. Is there any way to prevent this from happening? Guys, I have a Mac Mini 2009 that work gave me for working with openSUSE. I have installed openSUSE 13.1 on it, but the Video is 640x800. Has any install on a Mac Mini Early 2009?
