HI:
Next time please reply to the list, as the information might be useful
for other people with the same problem.
There is a problem/bug/regression in the kernel.. your system is only
loading the bttv driver for
pci:v0000109Ed0000036Esv00000000sd00000000bc04sc00i00 but does not load
the bt878 driver, apparently loading bt878 is supposed to happen
indirectly...
http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/tree/drivers…
#if defined(CONFIG_MODULES) && defined(MODULE)
static void request_module_async(struct work_struct *work)
{
request_module("dvb-bt8xx");
}
....
and the dvb-bt8xx module depends bt878 but this is working in your
system .. I have CC the kernel list but it will be better if you fill a
bug report.

It is not YaST. For some reason bt878 is not probed automatically anymore.
I've added it to modules-load.d (file bttv.conf with the only line
bttv) and also copied the file /etc/modprobe.d/50-tv.conf from 12.3 to
13.1 and now it works.

Hi
I have tried run update on 13.1 for about a week and now after release
continue wrong digest in some files. zypper patch, zypper dup ... not
working ! every time shows the same 'xxxx has wrong checksum', digest
problem, and does not update/upgrade.
Any ideas about that ? and how I fix that ?

Hi everyone!
Just a question: My bluetooth adapter Ralink corp. RT3290 Bluetooth does
not work. lspci it is listed, but when i try to install a bluetooth
adapter no adapters are found…I searched and found the driver from ralink:
http://www.mediatek.com/_en/07_downloads/01_windows.php?sn=501
I downloaded the file for rt3290 but i don´t know how to install the
driver and i don´t want to mess around with my wlan card, which seems to
be connected to this issue.
Thanks for help – Benjamin.
In prior versions of openSUSE, both MAC address based and random number
IPv6 addresses were available. With 13.1, I only have the MAC based
address and don't see any method of enabling the random number address.
This was possible in earlier versions.
How can it be done now?
tnx jk

Hi all,
I just did a fresh install of 13.1 but I am stuck in a display resolution
of 800x600. My screen has originally 2560x1600. I am running a Nvidia
GS7600 card with the nouveau driver.
Where can I change the screen resolution ?
Thank you!

As is my custom, I add the distro image as a local repository, instead
of relying on the DVD or online repository. However, when I try to add
the 13.1 64 bit ISO file, I get an error message: "File
'/local/openSUSE-13.1-DVD-x86_64.iso' does not seem to be an ISO image.
I can tell it to add the image and it seems to be OK, though I haven't
tried using it yet.
This file was used to create the DVD I installed from and passes the
md5sum check.

Hi,
OK, A fairly rough statement to make but the newest version of OpenSuse,
and I believe its previous versions, did not have a TRUE network
installation option.
WITHOUT any additional software management i.e. to create a Live USB or
DVD, and also not having a master host server to retrieve from, how can
a network install truly be done?
I would certainly download a file and execute it on my operating system
that simply pointed me to a server from which I could then download the
entire distribution.
A file should be made available that once downloaded, would start the
installation process of 13.1.
It does not matter what OS I am coming from, only that the file I
download is compatible enough with my current OS so that I can install 13.1.
I am putting this out into the community as there will come a time where
USB drives and CD/DVD's are no longer available to be used on a laptop,
as it has a network connection. How does a person with no optical drive
and no USB port with a single laptop install openSuse?
Just a thought
Should I perhaps raise it on Bugzilla?
Regards
Hylton

(This may be a duplicate of a message I sent a few hours ago but fails
to appear on the mailing list)
I just installed openSUSE 13.1 with no major problem. However the
shutdown process takes ~2-3 minutes.
I identified that the problem is related to a cifs share that I mount in
fstab with the following line:
//server/storage /mnt/storage cifs
auto,username=user,password=pass,uid=jeancf,gid=users,file_mode=0664,dir_mode=0775,iocharset=utf8,rw
0 0
Without this line in fstab the shutdown takes ~5 seconds.
My hunch is that the network is disconnected before the share is
unmounted and therefore unmount has to time out before shutdown can
continue. But I do not know how to verify / fix this problem.
Please help.
